  1. Stewart Macdonald Has a great info page that will give you all of your measurements. You just enter your scale length and number of frets and your measuremnts magically appear. www.stewmac.com then click on the free info link
  2. All of those dimensions are on the Floyd Rose website. It also may depend on wich model you are using. Good luck.
  3. You might try heating it up with a soldering iron.
  4. I am building a Walnut Tele with a maple neck and fertboard. Any suggestions on pickups so that it does'nt sount too bright and tinny? I would like to use Fender noisless but I'm afraid they would'nt give me the tone I'm looking for.
  5. Try this one. I don't build or work on them but it looked interesting to me. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Books,_plans/E...e_Amp_Book.html
  6. I wish I had that problem.... I'ts been freakin freezing here. lol I sometimes search the internet for custom/ unique guitars to keep me motivated. I look at them and think "I can do that" Then I also sometimes sit in the family room and listen to the kids yellin' screamin' and fightin until I can't take it anymore. Now that's some motivation there to get out into the shop. JK Hey, Where's the beef. Tell us about your Tele.. I am currently building a Tele as well. I am going for a 69' tele look, sunburst finish, White pickguard, Rosewood fretboard.... I bought the Wilkenson tele pickups from Stewmac. Any feedback on theese anybody? Sorry, I got off subject there huh? I think I have Adult ADD Just be patient Duff Beer Man. It'll come back tou you.
  7. There are three Carvin dealers in the UK. Did you call any of them? Cavin here in the US cannot ship directly to the UK because of contract issues with their international distributers. Contacts: 1. SDB Enterprises- Stuart Brown Ph #+44(127)3553797 2.Nevada Ph #44.23.9220.5100 3. Guitar Lefty - Tony Cannon Ph # 44.7971.644490 I hope this helps you out. Good luck I hope I'm not breaking any rules here by posting the Ph#'s
  8. Have you tried ordering from the Carvin website? I'm sure they will ship to the UK. And yes, your friend is right, Their pickups are excellent. I have a set of the M22's Kick A$$. I wish I knew how to put a sound clip on here so you could hear them
  9. Blakeish, I had the same problem a while back. Turns out I had the pos and ground crossed at the output jack. It could just be that simple. Just a thought.
  10. Quit while you're behind. Is that clear enough for you? We can arrange for some down time for you to improve your comprehension skills, if you'd prefer. ← Lovekraft, It was directed at Roadie56. He is a total smartass to everybody here. If he is a Mod he should help out without the smartass comments.
  11. Can anybody translate this for me? I don't speak Aussie
  12. Nevermind, I got an electrician at work to help me. Thanks anyway.
  13. I'm sorry rhoads56, I dont speak Austrailian. Anybody else (American) maybe?
  14. Sorry, I personally don't have much experience or knowledge of DiMarzzio's. But I think what you are looking for you would find in a hotter Carvin or maybe a SD George Lynch Screamin Deamon ( a bit more pricy) And as I said earlier if you don't like the carvin you can return it for a refund minus shipping. And I know I personally dont have money to burn on Pickups experimentally. So thats a pretty good deal. I also think alot of PU sites have sound bites to listen to. Maybe that will help out as well. Good luck
  15. I am a total electronics idiod. Could somebody put this Black Ice mod into total laymans terms for me? I would like to try it but I totally dont understand the schematics in the tutorial section. You say Schotty diodes? Are there any specific values on these? Where do I solder them to? Does this replace the cap already there? I am truly sorry for being so ignorant on this subject. But would like to learn more. Thanks in advance for any help on this.
  16. Well, you could try a Carvin M22N, or a M22V Both hotter pickups. Around $50 delivered. And the killer part about Carvin, If you dont like it, return it in 10 days for a full refund. American made too.
  17. Go to MIMF.com, register (free), and search the library/template part of the library for a printable string spacing guage doodad in PDF format. ← Thank you mattia, for the help and sparing me thw sarchasm
  18. Hell why not ? You also want copies of the 13 guitar set-up/repair videos I have, scans of all printed material (I even have a lot of it scanned already) ? I paid dearly for that string spacing ruler. If my memory is correct, I took that tool in trade (along with some nut files) after I had bought a few of their other tools, which I had rushed-shipped (extra $$$), and then those tools failed my expectations. If you were any more poor than me, you wouldn't be able to access the internet from your own home. Guitar Repair : Work like a doctor, get paid like a starving artist. ← No, Ive seen those. And I live at the mission and access the internet at the library
  19. Maybe a variable speed scroll saw would work for this. Just set the blade speed really low. Might help your burning/melting problem. I have thought about making some plexiglass pickguards too. Keep us updated on that. Good luck
  20. Could'nt somebody with the stewmac string spacing ruler just scan it in their scanner and post it on here as a jpg. to help us poor people out?
  21. Does anybody have these specs for a 1-3/4" nut? I don't want to buy the guage from stewmac.
  22. Just something I'm trying to sell. A 1996 Fender Strat 50th Ann. Mexican. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZbluetic_35QQhtZ-1
  23. Ok, So you guys see why I didnt finish it. Whats the harm in selling it as a "replica"? Its not like I'm asking $500 for it (like Warmoth) . I just wanted what I had in material and a little shop time. And whats wrong with the Blue pearloid?
  24. One that I started and didnt finish. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZbluetic_35QQhtZ-1
  25. I stumbled across this on ebay. If I had the extra cash I would buy it myself. Just thought somebody here might be interested. http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-GIBSON-LES-PAU...1QQcmdZViewItem
