  1. How much is slight? Can you show a picture? If it's just a little bit, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just make sure its clamped down nice n' tight with screws. That's what they're there for. Have at look at this neck 'pocket' --I imagine that without screws it's just as wobbly. But it still works: Same thing with strat and tele style neck pockets...sure you can get that little bit at the end nice n' snug. But the screws are what's holding the body and neck together. And a Strat will beat out a Les Paul in a (physical) sustain contest--that has actually been tested and measured (the LP's sustain is louder though) Have you put the guitar together yet? ← No, I've just got a strat style body and looking for a neck. A friend is offering to sell a nice neck to me but as I say, it wobbles in the joint. My only real concern is that I will drill the holes for the screws badly and the neck with be at a bad angle.
  2. Would it work (or cause problems) if I was to fit a slightly narrower neck on a body? Meaning that the neck heel is wobbling slightly (without the screws in). Would this be resolved when the screws are fitted?
  3. This is on a strat with a 2 point screw tremolo system, before I continue. Anyway, the 12th fret on the high E is flatter than the open string (not too bad, but enough to piss me off). I've tryed adjusting the intonation, but alas, the actual screw is blocking the saddle from moving any closer the neck. I'm not to keen about raising the action so the saddle will fit over it, I'd rather here your suggestions first. Anyone know how to resolve this? Help greatly appreciated .
  4. Thank you. God, can't even ask a question without being called a fake poster...
  5. good call..you may be right. now that you mention it,it is strange that a guy would rattle off all those measurements and be so specific, yet not know the standard strat scale length ← Fake poster? Good god! In a guitar forum?? What next. I was specific because I measured the neck beforehand, is that so unbelievable?
  6. I've fitted a new BC Rich neck, scale size 24 3/4", onto my strat (and got so much fret buzz i've raised the string saddle almost to their max), but as i work my way up the neck, each note goes progressively flatter - to the point where the 13th fret is a closer pitch to the open string than the 12th. I don't know how to sort this. I altered the intonation, but this makes very little/no difference at all. Could I move the nut so it is futher into the 1st fret? Here are the measurements: Original neck: Length from nut to 12th fret - 32.1cm Total length of neck - 46.5 New neck: Length from nut to 12th fret - 31.5cm Length from 12th fret to bridge - 34.5cm Total Length - 46.5cm (give or take a few millimeters on each measurement) Does anyone know the scale size of a standard strat neck? Help in any form would be greatly appreciated!
