  1. you can easily buy a new locking nut and put it in
  2. yes you can use car spray paint do a search before you post
  3. yeh thats the idea i was just wanting to know wether the bridge idea would work
  4. yeh they look ok i was kinda maybe wanting a kind od tribal tattoo type thing or iv seen just circles instead of f cuts aswell witch will probably be ok aswell
  5. cause im wanting acostic sounds without using a ghost saddle so it gonna be a semi acoustic with some kind of cuts but i hate f cuts so i dont jknow what to have
  6. yeh to stop movement is what the locking nuts are for im trying to think of a better why to clamp it cause if i dril a hole then need to move it slightly i carnt drill a hle right next to is also if i do and glue it down and then i change string gauge or something ill need to inotate again - or so it said in another thread about a similar guitar
  7. im building a new guitars witch is goin to be and semi hollow body in a ibanez shape but with an acoustic bridge now iv been told i will have problems getting it to inotate properly so i came up with this idea www.freewebs.com/guitarbridge will this work i know this is in another thread but i want answers on this alone
  8. check this out for an idea it probably carnt be used on your but for a new guitar being built i think it has potential to work www.freewebs.com/guitarbridge
  9. right i got this idea of how i can inotate the guitar properly or near enought check it out www.freewebs.com/guitarbridge see if this would work sorry about the crap drawing but i didnt have the time to do any better hope u get the idea anyways
  10. The "F" holes will make a tone difference. To me a chambered or semi hollow without "F" holes sounds growly or muddy (not in a bad way) and those with "F" holes sound a bit brighter. Again......that's MY ears talking, yours may hear them completely differently. I'm also mainly a bass player so I like growly and muddy, most guitar players I know do not like muddy, they like a nice clean tone that can be manipulated with pedals if desired. If you're not using the ghost saddles then you need to find a Hamer DuoTone and play that. It is set up with the bone saddle with piezo under. IMO it is an EXCELLENT sounding guitar that sounds like no other. It is one of my personal favorites. Be careful if this is your first build and make sure you get the bridge and saddle placed properly. Hamer had some problems when they first built this model and made an intonation nightmare for many, many customers and dealers that had to correct them. ← its not my first build but i will probably need osme help placing the bridge when i get round to it so i will be posting that in the near future now i dont like the look of F cuts so could i do something else like some kind of tribal design sort of tatoo looking thing instead
  11. but as its not going to be used without an amp would i really need one
  12. ok so im gonna use an acoustic bridge with a under saddle pickup thing and a pre amp im gonna semi- hollow out the body 1: iv used acoustic strings on an electric guitar before with no problem but i want to know if they make any diffrence to tone - and as i said before this is primerily use as an acoustic guitar so if acoustic string will sound better then ill use them 2: f cuts do i need them - what exactly are they for
  13. IMO you should at least have a semi-hollow body with the piezo. Use electric strings. The bridge mounted pickups like the TonePros are specifically designed for this type of application. Also to repeat what mled sadi.....you need to do a google search or three. Check out "bridge mounted piezo", "electric-acoustic", etc.......have fun! ← right im not using ghost saddles im using a normal acoustic brigde but one without bridge pins the strings are goin through the body
  14. soz just wanted a specific answer for this one
  15. what are f cuts for. im building a hollow body but i hate the look of f cuts but do i need them do the make any diffrence to tone
