  1. Thanks!! I will definately look into it.
  2. Also how do you get the aluminium to conform to the bends of a guitar? Thanks!
  3. Hey, Yes I did post this as part of another thread, but figured it would get better response in here, because this is for tools. Anywho, I need something that is cheap and will cut aluminium-1/16 of an inch or thinner. Would a standard power saw work? I also need something to smooth the edge out with. Any Ideas? Thanks!
  4. I would like to know what I have to use to cut this smooth, so I can buy it while at the menards or whatever. Yes, this guitar plays pretty well, so should I go for it? Thanks!
  5. Yah, I am new to metal working, but I have a good friend who is experienced in metal working, not on guitars, but just on metal, Could I take it to him? Thanks! P.S. If I appear cheap, it is just because I have a limited budget, otherwise, I would send it to a shop.
  6. It is a real wood body as far as I can tell and know, but I have not yet skinned it down to wood yet. Why? because the previous owner decided to dip this thing into a tub of swirl paint, and skrewed it up. It is not a very nice or expensive guitar, I just got a great deal on it. Will this seriously mess up my acoustics of this? Thanks!
  7. I have some power tools, never done much metal working on them though. I have like 4 drills a bench drill, a bench grider, a jigsaw, 3 power saws. I dont, unfourtunately have a router, but this stuff is relatively thin, correct? Thanks!
  8. That looks awesome! What kind of aluminium should I use? I was just gonna go to the hardware store and pickup some.... Also, how can I get the holes for the pickups proportional(sp?) to the guitar, so it will fit?
  9. Yes I am new to this, but i do like your idea. Thnx!
  10. It is really neat how he can do it, but I was wondering for me if I should go ahead and use glue. Anyone have any reccomendations? Thanks!
  11. Hello all, I was thinking today about how I could finish my guitar, and I had an idea to wrap aluminium around a guitar. I would like to do this, but I have a few questions: -Has this been done? If so, then how? -Should I glue or should I rivet it down? -Will doing this cause a loss of money? -Will it change the intonation? Lastley-How can I cut out the exact holes for pickups and knobs? Thanks!
  12. What is a stratoblaster btw? Thanks!
  13. Has anyone ever had any experience with the Artec Quadra Distortion Driver ? I saw it and liked the idea. Who wouldnt like having one whole distortion unit inside a switch and board? Here is there page: http://www.artecsound.com/qdd.html Tell me if I should use this or if I should just build a mini distortion circuit and throw that in like: http://www.generalguitargadgets.com/diagra...ist_plus_sc.gif Thanks!
  14. Hey all, I dont know if someone has posted on this already, so I will post. I have had this wicked idea of putting a small fx processor in my beaten up Jackson PS4. I mean, sorta like those Line 6 Variax stuff. I am on a limited budget, but is there anything even out there with this idea? W/o Ripping apart a new line 6 guitar. I think that this would be wicked-sweet. Any ideas? Thanks!
  15. Thanks for the advice Miro! I hope it turns out well. Thanks! Revian
  16. HEY, I am buying a Jackson PS4 that is on sale only because the previous owner decided to dip the fron of the guitar in swirl paint...Any way to get it off? This model is not a classic nor expensive, so if not, I will strip it all down and do it rite...Black with gold hardware. I was wondering...is it ok to paint it, because the paint it has now is really skrewed up by the previous owner. I was wondering if I should take it down to wood and then paint. The guy at Guitar Center said it was ok just to get it flat, spray automotive primer, then sand it flat, then paint it black with high gloss automotive paint, then clear coat it with, you got it, automotive clearcoat. Does this sound reasonable to you? I am fairly limited on my money, so I cannot really buy anything too fancy. Oh the paint he told me to get was spray paint. Then I could do stencils and custo it before i clear coat it. Any reasonable doubts/problems? I know I will be losing money, but I am getting an incredible deal on this, and I just want something that looks reasonable to rock on. Any ideas/warnings/criticism are appreciated. Thanks!
  17. For future reference, what forum should this thread be in? Thanks. As you can tell, I am a nOOb. Revian

  19. Ok. This might be a dumg question to ask here, but should I get a fully completed playable, and representable guitar for 50 dollars more or save 50 dollars plus the cost of the case to buy a this Ps4 with a case and spend an hour or two workin on it. Any Ideas and comments appreciated. Also, the retard who owned it previous to the store decided to PAINT the pickups, should I change out the Pickups and Pots too? Thanks! Revian PS. This is sorta like a starter electric, but been playing acoustic for a little bit. So would it be too bad for me to do some custom stuff? I will have this for a year or two or three, until I can afford a PRS(SWEET GUITARS BTW). I like this forums good responses! REvian
  20. So should I sand it all the way down to the wood, and then do My own coloration on it? They also painted the pickups. Is there any way to remove it? Thanks! Revian
