Actually, I don't know if I can consider myself a tech. I do run my own shop though. So far, I just show people my guitar, which isn't fully done yet, as an example of what I can do. I'm actually gonna do a line of guitars influenced by anime/anime characters and game/game characters to show people what I can really do. I just need to find an artist willing to work with me, and money for a few more supplies. But of course, opening up your own shop is much much much harder than finding a job at a store^^

uhhh, our rhythm guitarist = our main guitarist......I'm only on lead guitar when there's no drums. I use my guitar, a former strat, hooked up with a Blues Driver and then straight to a Roland Micro Cube. I was thinkin to get a bandsaw before I got a router though. Not sure which one would be more useful in making guitars.

haha, you guys have pretty awsome shops. I'm diggin Nate's shop the most though......it's a little closer to my price range, lol. I'm really into computer electronics and whatnot so I've got a whole mess of small screwdrivers and stuff like that. I've never really messed around with anything big. My only sources of income is allowance, poker money, money I make from the shop(which is like, a negative amount right now), and money the band makes(which is nothing, since we're in a serious lack of things like...our main guitarist doesn't have a guitar/amp). I think I make like, $120 a month as an average, but most of that either goes into my shop or into little things like slides, books, and dates(X.X the most killer thing). My dad got some kinda table saw, so I might be able to use that.....(I'm gonna end up doing the crown molding for my house, which I've heard is super hard) Anyways, thanks for the replies so far and I'm looking forward to future replies^^

I just wanna know what's in your shop and how much it cost you. My shop is pretty much a bunch of pieces of wood scattered on my driveway so paint won't go to the cement and a bunch of knives and saws.........only power tools I have is a small dremel thing and a cheap electric sander that I never use. I'm thinkin of getting tools that are most mentioned here, sooooo, yea.

oh, and if you have a crappy player/singer. Go tell him/her to practice more, just straight up. Our bassist sucks really bad and he won't listen to us when we tell him to practice, but we're best friends so it's really hard to tell him that we wanna kick him out. Especially when there's this guy we know who wants to join who is a mad crazy bass player. He started playing jazz/bebop with a stand up bass and he's just insane with the electric. You'll wanna make good friends with your band members if you wanna get anywhere.....or at least that's what I think. I'm really crazy when it comes to music but writing a song together is like.....just puttin the band's mind and soul into song pretty much. You might wanna think about what kinda music/lyrics you guys wanna do. My band's sorta like a punk/ska/rock/screamo type band when I'm on drums but when we're playing somewhere where I can't move my drums over.....I move to guitar and that's when we become more like a punk/blues/hard rock/screamo type music and our music tends to have more focus on the music than the lyrics, cuz me and the other guitarist feel that music shouldn't be played if it's just about the message, cuz message suck. I've got a sorta Ramones/Aquabats kinda lyric feel....like a pointless kinda thing sometimes....like a point, but a not so important point most of the time. The other guitarist's got like a political/rebellionish punk kinda feel to his, and our bassist just writes horrible emo stuff that we never end up playing because there's no real point to it. Sorry for all the unnecessary stuff......good luck with your band bro
