  1. Has anyone seen or used this? I can't seem to find any reviews anywhere on the 'net about it. I thought it was a neat concept considering I already have an air compressor and a router not being used that would fit. For those who haven't seen it, this link HERE will show you the product. Any ideas on where I can find any reviews and/or personal use of it?
  2. I'm kinda late to this party, but I thought I'd add my .02 worth. I have placed 3 different templates on ebay several months ago (july or so) that were pulled under the VERO program by Kirn consulting. I did not think much of it at the time as I thought it was because templates were considered copyrighted. But here's where it doesn't make sense. The three templates I had up for auction were a Musiclander, SG, and an explorer style one all out of plywood. After reading through this thread, It seems Kirn thinks that he invented templates on the whole. I didn't place any more ads under ebay back in July because I didnt wanna risk losing any more money than I already had. Also,Another Counterfeit Oh, and by the way, I claimed this on ebay under the Replica, Counterfeit Items and Unauthorized Copies section. The Fender Logo is all too easy to see on this one.
  3. I am currently building a lap steel guitar for a friend. He decided on a tele body with regular tele layout. The body is no problem as I have built a few tele copies before. My concern is with the neck/bridge relationship. A search on the forums did not turn up enough info for me so I thought I would start a new thread. The neck itself is not the concern. It's going to be fretless and I think I've found a nut big enough to get the strings high enough off the fretboard. My concern is that the few lap steel guitars I've seen 1) have rather short scales(20-21") and 2)he wants to use a standard tele bridge. By having a standard bridge, this would make the nut higher than the bridge. To correct this, I was going to sink the neck deeper into the body... but that would also bring my fingerboard below the body as well. I could also angle the neck and/or shim it. Either way would be ok, but he also wants to be able to change necks from a lap steel neck to a standard tele neck. So that throws a wrench into everything I've drawn up on paper. Does anyone else have any other ideas to accomplish both necks?
  4. I dont see how they would work out. And no, these are not my auctions. lol It just seems like both of these bodies would be way out of balance on the weight. And also, it seems like you would have no room to actually strum. Maybe it's cause I wasnt born in the 70's, maybe I'm missing the art? I just dont see how you could make workable guitars out of them and still actually play them.
  5. During my daily visits through ebay.... I found this Strange Body 1 and this.... Strange Body 2 Kinda creative in one way.... Very unusable in all other aspects. Does anyone else wonder why he got out of business in the first place?
