i got those knobs but felt that the pearl tops looked kind of cheesy... do this, but with the material

i think the animals are sweet. it's going to be tricky getting that finish off without damaging the carvings tho

oh, i think the wenge cover looks great. it matches the neck, and sort of ties the look together

ugh. cutting plexi glass/ acrylic etc. is the biggest pain in the butt ever. two words: laser cutter

hot guitar. love the lathe work. the end result pictures are too dark, though, any chance for brighter ones?

ever seen a strobe tuner? awesome, awesome invention. it's just a pair of LEDs that strobe at the fundamental frequency of whichever string you're trying to tune

i'd just add to this that people looking for a starting point in tube amp construction would do well to check out the 18 watt site- http://18watt.com/ there's a lot of good info there and a very active forum with people that are a lot of help. 18-watters are a simple project that gives an awesome result. i don't think you need a kit. sourcing parts yourself is cheaper and it feels more like 'your' amp. way more fun

hmmm i will have to check into that hammond transformers can handle way more power than they're rated for. 1650F is the right transformer for the job.

i play [my sweet personally made] bass in Dostoevsky's Pistols. We're a gypsy punk band like Gogol Bordello. lots of crowd participation and whatnot. (that's me ) Our album is available free: Notes From the Underground it's mixed with too much bass, so be careful listening to it in the car (sounds sweet with most headphones, tho)

jealous, brother. i started working on mine again. got some work done on the top and neck (scarfjoint and stuff) also, longbaords are going strong. i bought trucks today and i have a couple boards ready to go
