  1. i finally got some time to proceed. the body shaping was completed, chips (where i slipped with the router) were filled and everything was sanded roughly. neck pocket was routed. pictures coming soon....
  2. this looks just too cool! waiting for sound bites.
  3. progress pics!!! because my router is broken, I had to do all the body shaping by hand with a chisel. it was a very tough job, but i think it turned out quite well. back: http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/3622/dsc001647zk.jpg still needs lots and lots of sanding and some beveling on the edges...
  4. this guitar is actually the greatest DIY-guitar project i have ever seen. maybe even the best one i will ever see in my lifetime great work, awesome choose of wood, nice finishing and very cool concept. I like that youve tried something very different. keep up your good working attitude and head for the next project!
  5. great looking finish, very professional. though im not so much into fretless basses, this one rocks
  6. i repaired my router and continured my build... http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/3267/dsc000244hx.jpg here you can see that the wood is slightly bended. but I wanted a flat top surface, so I had to improvise... so i made sorta rail system for my router and used a medium size surface router bit to get an even surface. http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/2967/dsc000266wc.jpg after the routing procedure, i got a perfectly flat and smooth surface... im glad it worked out http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/6453/dsc000294gg.jpg http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/7725/dsc000300nr.jpg next step: finishing body shaping
  7. no.1 is the best one. but 3 is great, too
  8. well, thats the ****in greatest guitar Ive ever seen! go for gold!
  9. the headstock. still needs some sanding http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/5965/dsc000204uk.jpg http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/5884/dsc000222qv.jpg today, I began routing the body. but because my router broke down, I had to stop before I had finished. this sucks! http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/5725/dsc000174dd.jpg this is the front side. I used a large router bit to level the body wood. still needs lotsa sanding... http://img303.imageshack.us/img303/2924/dsc000168cu.jpg
  10. ****in awesome! i love these designs of myka guitars. real porn.
  11. in the last few days, I cut out the headstock shape, did the beveling with a rasp, drilled the holes for the tuners and installed the tuners. no photos yet (my sister has stolen my digicam), they will follow soon...
  12. nah, its his selfmade electric - it rocks!
  13. I would say go for Pink. yeah, pink with gold hardware. and fur strap! pure porn!
  14. see thru dark cherry red with black burst edges!!
  15. ah I just found out that it is not a bandsaw, but a scroll saw: it was a very thin blade, much too weak E: i was feeding the wood very slowly through the saw
  16. routing template completed. i wanted to cut out the body, but my bandsaw blade was just too weak and broke every time. got to go to the market and buy stronger sawblades.
  17. Basically, I say "inspired" because there never was a production Mahogany Jem, or one with a Lacewood top. Also, The neck on this thing will be killer. I like the black/purple idea. I think I'll go for that. i see black/purple is okay, but dark green/black would look cool. and use gold hardware!!!
  18. "inspired"? actually it IS a JEM but its looking great
  19. yay, today i got my body wood. looks awesome, I like it. has some ugly water stains, but they will be no problem, wood was dried very well and professionally. it cost me 60 euro including shipping, I think the price is ok. http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/4861/woodfront0pw.jpg http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/5692/woodback1zg.jpg time for making routing templates!!
  20. I thought about finishing the flat top of the headstock with a black color, and let the carve just as it is. but veneer sounds nice too, would be even easier maybe. We'll see.... @Mickguard, eddiewarlock oh, if you say so, even better :D
  21. actually i use Microsoft Pencil "HB" version 3 and Microsoft Paper 1.0 - it works quite good.
