my body is mahogany and the headstock is maple. i'll be using acrilyc enamel, like car paint. My last project was painted with the same kind, by somebody else, and it turnd out very good. i want to spray this one myself, i just didnt want to buy to much paint, that stuff's not cheap you know. thanks.

how much paint will it take to paint a guitar body and headstock? i know it depends on how thick i lay the paint on , just need rough quess . i'll be shooting with a small hvlp gun.

i didnt want to start a big argument between the spray can guys and the spray gun/compressor guys. i have acess to a paint booth and spray equipment, i was just wondering about the spray can finish. when i bought the guitar kit i saw the paint-your-own link , so i was curious. thanks for all you opinions and experince. i have never painted a guitar, and i think i'll ihave my cousin do it for me . he's a paint rep so he knows his stuff. if anyone is interested in a paint job, let me know . he might do some on the side.

what i was saying Godin is that most of the time i think mahogany is used for the bigger bodied guitars like a lp. i like the lp shape but want to make a strat out of mahogany for something different .

maiden69 is that a regular tune-o-matic bridge on you guitar, do you have an angled neck pocket or did you sink the bridge a little

i just scored a nice piece of mahogany and was thinking of a making a strat instead of the usual lp shape everyone does with the wood. just wonderd if anyone else had one made of mahogany or had any comments on it.

just wondering if anyone had ever painted a floyde rose befor. i have a chrome one that i want black and my locking nut is gold and i want that black to . any info or suggestions will be great

i just scored these 2 kramer focus guitars off ebay for 72.00. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=7370822374 i mainly got them for parts but maybe ill use one of them

Yet Another Broken Headstock

i had almost the same break. my guitar fell off its stand and the head just snapped off. i used epoxy and some wooden shewers to fix it , just like 1576 said . it work'd perfect i laid some fiberglass over it to fill in any places were the wood was missing. let it all harden and strung her up and sounds just like the day i got her.
