i still would route out a design not just a dot but that was the main reason for the color so itd be something other than the normal color inlays

Recently saw on instructables crushed rock used as an inlay on rings http://www.instructables.com/id/Bent-Wood-Rings/#step1 and had the idea of using it on my fretboard. Any idea if this would work?
