  1. Good idea. Ill throw the .022 in and if that doesnt do the job ill sort out another cap. Thanks again.
  2. Yes I DO mean nF! See told you I was crap at electronics..... I dont really want it to sound dark. So I guess its the 22? which would be 0.022uF?
  3. Hi. Im putting the finishing touches to my 2 Humbucker partscaster. I have a question about the capacitor though. Should I use a 0.022uF cap or a 0.047uF cap? With the guitar having humbuckers as opposed to single coils should I be thinking of going with the 47? Or would the 22 do the job? However I AM modding the HB's to be able to be split. So im worrying that the 47 might be too much. Should I stick with the 22? Electronics is not my strongest suit. So any help with this would be apreciated. Thanks in advance. Greg
  4. Thanks for the response guys. I dont think its going to be ecconomicaly viable for me to hire one for a day. My local hire shop wants a LOT of money. However Ive just seen a cheap one on ebay. And if I dont get that then im gonna buy a cheap one from my local B&Q. They have a 28 day money back guarentee, so its just like free hire!
  5. Well I think ive decided to check out tool hire places! Cant belive I didnt think of it before. Cheers for the help. Greg
  6. I know the drill presses arent that expensive. But I cant really afford to buy one just to use it once! I'll ask around to see if anyone I know has one.
  7. Hi. Just recieved a replacement neck. But it hasnt come pre drilled. So I guess ill have to drill it. Unfortunately I dont have access to a drill press! So my queston is... How would I go about drilling the pilot holes in my neck without a drill press? Is it possible? Is it Feasible? Is there anyway to cheat? Or do I need to go and buy a drill press i will probably only use this once? Any input is welcome! Thanks in advance. Greg
  8. Aha! So the Digram is the right way up! Thanks Sambo! Greg
  9. Ok Im ashamed to be having to ask this. But if you have a diagram like this. Which way up should it be? Ie. Is the pot on the top? Or the bottom? Feel free to tell me just how stupid I am.... Greg
  10. thanks mattia. I know what logarithmic means. But I dint knoe that it applied to audio pots! From a lot of the Diagrams ive found It looks like Im wanting two audio pots then. Thanks lads.... Greg
  11. Can any one tell me the difference between audio and Linear pots? Is it ehat they use diffent resistance? Cheers. Greg
  12. Hi. Im puting the finishing touches to my first custom guitar at the moment. Its a double humbucker thinline telecaster, with standart tele controls. A Dimazario Virtual PAF in the neck and a Seymore Duncan Lil '59 in the bridge. Now... I want to be able to split both these PUPs on Push pull pots. Im going for 500 k ones but do I want Audio or Lin pots? Or one of each? Also are there any other variations I could have to give me the maximum combination of variations? Ive thought about putting a 4 way switch in, and having a setting for the PUP's in seies, anyone have experience of this. Also Does anyone know where I can find a diagram for this? Basicaly I think I know what I want to do and how I want to do it. Im looking for testimonals from people who have similar, or not so similar setups.... Cheers Greg
