  1. A 2HP compressor would be more than enough for spraying guitars, I've used one to paint cars. Go ahead and get it looks like a pretty good deal, plus with a compressor that size it comes in handy for other uses.
  2. In Canada it's available at Home Hardware and Rona, not sure if that helps ya cause I don't know where you are.
  3. There are a lot of sellers on ebay that have brand new necks for all kinds of guitars. Just find someone with a good track record and it should be alright. Here's a cheap new neck: Clicky
  4. I use MDF cut out with a scroll saw, then sand the edge to get it perfect.
  5. Pickups on a strat aren't in contact with the wood at all, they're mounted on the pickguard. Even if they were I don't think it would make any difference.
  6. only 3 days left in the auction. Also I added Paypal as a payment option. Thanks.
  7. Here we go again. I'm sorry, maybe it's a stupid question, but I'm a little confused as to exactly what you can or can not use. I was a the local hardware store yesterday and saw some really nice high grade fir 2X4s and was wondering if that would be ok to use.
  8. so, you could use better than construction grade lumber, right?
  9. I just bought a can of Watco clear lacquer at the local hardware store, I hope this is good stuff 'cause it cost me 8 bucks. Does anyone know if this is acrylic or is it nitro lacquer? Also what kind of color coats can I use this over?
  10. Thanks JoeAArthur, that info will be very helpful.
  11. 500K. Is there a reason I should go with 500K? I know teles and strats usually have 250k pots but those are with normal single coils. Should it be the same with P90s, what dose Gibson use for their P90 equipped guitars? I need to know since I will be ordering the hardware to finish up my project soon, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  12. I am using a pair of P90 pickups on my current tele project, I want to use 1 tone and 1 volume and am not sure whether to use 250K or 500K pots. These are the pickups I'm using: Click Here
  13. I believe they used to make guitars before the invention of the router, so yeah it can be done.
  14. So, you went from destroying a PRS with a power sander to building that Les Paul? Interesting.
  15. I decideed to remove the Kahler off my Gibson Explorer and go with an original tuneomatic set up. So I have put up the Kahler for sale on eBay. Click Here
  16. Well got the body cut out. Now I need to wait to get my bridge and pickups before I can do any of the routing on the body. Yeah something like this. Also I think I'll be going with a strat style jack located on the back instead of the standard tele jack.
  17. WOW! That's that's some really nice work. I love that dragon.
  18. Built my planing jig today and planed the wood. Worked pretty good too. Have to go out and get me some pipe clamps so I can glue it up tomorrow. Here's pics of my planing jig: click images to enlarge.
  19. Well, whatever you do don't use spruce for the neck. I don't think it's strong enough. I'd try to get fir it's stronger and doesn't have as many knots as spruce or pine.
  20. Thanks for the welcome, guys. I started a thread on my current project and will be adding pictures as the build goes along. Look Here
  21. Wow! That's a sweet looking guitar.
