hey there, just wondering if anybody out there can tell me what the difference between power amps and pre amps are? im think of getting rid of my marshall head and buying rack mount stuff instead. is there rackmount stuff that you would suggest? thanks

hey there, well im getting the 81 and 85 put in to my esp guitar. i wanted the AB/PA2 to add as a boster, jst in case i needed it for a solo etc. i am also having an EMG-EXG fitted onto the guitar to give the guitar more tone. there for both the volume and tone controls on my guitar ( it only has two) will be push pull pots, so if i had the AB on my volume control, and turned it up for more bos,but then pushed it down, woud the volume be higher then it was before i had it pused down, due to the rotation of the knob? do you get what i mean? its hard to explain ta

hey there, at the moment im getting the ZW EMG set fitted into my ESP. i want to get a switch from esp which will give the guitar a boost (20 db). there are two types of switches made by esp that do this. 1. the EMG-AB (afterburner) seen on hetfields SP grynch guitar. this is a push pull pot. 2. the EMG-PA2 which seems to do the same, but it is in the form of a mini toggle. does any one have more information about these? and which would be the best to get? thanks marc

hi there, this is my dilema. i was goin to order some sperzel locking machine heads from musicians friend. as i am based in the uk, i would be using a credit card, but the items would be shipped to florida, as that is where i am goin for the next couple of weeks. however, i jst found out that for me to do this, they would only accept money orders or something. ???!!! i have been trying to find another website selling sperzels, but the only ones i could find were ones associated with musicians friend, and thus taking me back to square one. is there anyone out there that can help me on this matter? PLEASE!!! thanks

i am looking at gettin some dimarzio evolution pickups. for the bridge position, there is the normal evo, and an f-spaced evo( which is slightly more expensive). what is the difference is the pickups, and whihc one should i buy? thanks marc

hey there, i wana get rid of the EMG HZ's on my esp h301. i was gonna get the zakk wylde set, but i have been told that they cannot be coil tapped (i have a 5 way swithc on my guitar which i do not want to lose for a 3 way). can anyone suggest a suitable alternative? i was thinking maybe the di marzio evo's?? ta

ok then reaper, if i had an 81 put in and an 89 (instead of the 85), would that mean that i would need a 4 way switch? how would i get it to work properly??

hey there guys, i have question on this matter, that i need help with. i have an esp h301 at the mo. this has 2 emg hz's. but the good thing about the guitar is that it has a 5 way switch for the 2 humbuckers, which is cool i think, cos it gives you a great range of tones. i am planning to upgrade the emg hz's to an 81 and 85. however, i have been told that the 5 way switch will have to go for a 3 way switch, because the 81 and 85 cannot be split (unlike the 89). would i be bale o use a soil tap to split the 81 and 85, and therefore keep the 5 way switch? cheers

the body is a strat style, its not fender or squire, but a replica make.would ihave to take measurements tomake sure that it fits?

hi there, im doing up a strat, and want to replace the neck for a 1 piece maple neck. how do i know that the neck i buy wil fit on my guitar? will i have to do work on it to make sure that it fits?

ok, but i still dont undersatnd. my sep h301 is equipped with 2 EMG-HZ's, but it has a 5 way 'mega switch' which gives me a great range of tones, so surely he wiring for other EMGs are not different form the HZ's as these are the most basic of the EMG humbuker range? i really dont wanne lose the 5 way switch cos its a great feature on the guitar

hey there, you said you bought some off ebay, well have they always been in good condition etc? there are some on there at the mo for $152 free delivery to the UK. the sellers name is beavisdogkjb. did you use this guy? im jst a bit apprehensive about using ebay for electrical goods

well, i have a strat, so my esp is my main guitar, i want a good warm clean sound and a heavy distorted sound in all the positions. so idont want it to sound straty. im currently using a marshall tsl 602, which has a huge sound. another question is the my esp has a "mega-swith" which is a 5 way switch, but the guitar only has 2 humbuckers. would the 81 and 85 (seperate or in the zakk set) be compatible with this?
