Thats a whole lotta scalloping dude :-) (back on topic) I've done 4 12-24 fret scallops on Ibanez necks and as Brian has said, They feel slightly differant, But nothing else, No weaker imho As for getting a Pro to do it, If your in the US i'd see LGM guitars about doing it ... 14. I'm gonna try and put a tutorial together, I had hoped to have one done for you all, But heres a quick "how i do it" Firstly i choose my body,Then my comic, Then spend far too long sorting through to get which pages, strip i want to use ... Then the application I use PVA glue to bond the Comic paper to BARE wood, Getting the glue off the top of the paper is important at this stage as it shows up BADLY during laquer stages ... Once i have done all the layout, and it's all glued it's left (without cutting the edges off) for approx 3 days (althou curing time is quicker, i like to leave it that long as i don't get frustrated) Ooops, I use my fingers to spread the glue (a brush is probably fine and less messy tho) Once i am happy i cut around the edges of the guitar to get it ready for laquer, Which is acrylic Car Laquer (it's like £1.99 a can) Now the first 5 or 6 coats are sprayed at a distance, Possibly more than is recommended, i'd say 10 inchs approx this makes sure the laquer coats slowly so as not to cause too much bleed in the paper, Once you have a visible coat of laquer on the whole top (and edges) you can finish up as per normal and polish etc There are a few pic on my website, where you can see the pages i used during the cutting off portion ... If anyone wants to donate a Body i'll gladly do a stage by stage picture tutorial, I'm sure Brian will have room for that Thanks for all your kind comments and anything ANY of you want to know just reply and i'll help out !!! Rob
  15. Dude, If you decide to pass it on, It would go well with your old trem ;-) I'd be interested :-) Regards Rob
  16. Sweet wood dude, I wish i could get my grubby mits on some like that Jammy for god sake man, Time out Your a class a loon, but ya know, i think we all are to some degree Rob
  17. Ok i know it's in the GOTM compo, but ya can't comment there, so feel free to hurl abuse my way on this thread back and sides are just matt black, nothing fancy there, Pickups are Neck(Air Classic)middle(Blue Velvet)bridge(breed) all DiMarzio, edge trem in chrome, chrome tuners (gotoh-a-likes) and black nut with cosmo clamps it's an old style neck joint, and she plays very well, I'm keeping this one as i'm regretting selling the other comicbook actually, i have tried to track it down to no avail So now the only things on the boil are, RG7 Sweet Chesnut Custom, Patrick Eggle Custom and an RG3120 Custom, With gold hardware Take it easy and comments are always welcome as ya know Take it easy dudes, And hope you don't have problems with your own Projects Rob
  18. I'm entering the comicbook :-) Have fun, Oh and theres more pics on my site, For a little back ground info ... Comments welcome Rob
  19. Chrome Evo's from a Jem 10th, DiMarzio do not do them any more The MirrorBall now resides in the US with Rikk Beattie, It's actually the hardest guitar i have had to part with I want it BACK Rob (damn i've not been in for a wee while)
  20. Jer, This time you have truely outdone yourself, Thats fabulicious Rob
  21. Sorry dude, Like i said i "NEED" that trem Thanks for the quick settlement I'll get it in the post for ya asap Me So Happy Rob
  22. No special way of doing it, No special glue, and fingers I don't really have time to do a tutorial, But i'll start one off soon, I have some spare time coming up. I use PVA, and my fingers, Yes it's messy, but it's the only way i've found that allows easy movement of the page's once in place, AND keeps everything in place ... If you wanna tackle it and get stuck just PM, and keep the first 3 or 4 layers of clear very VERY light or it'll go wrong very quick and you'll be oissed pff Rob
  23. I'll be praying for ya Bro, you could make a killing doing them. Good luck to little lady driver too ... I lost touch with the US drag scene awhile ago, but have been watching a little bit just recently, Hopefully you'll get a Top Fuel car to do That's be something Really BIG Keep up the great work dude Rob
  24. I'm not a fan of clear plates, and custom would be needed as Ibanez clears have no selector switch mounting, and most are direct mount, and i don't have time, and besides you would see the glue Neck is on a plane jetting it's way to me as we speaketh, Am waiting as patiently as possible for it to get here I'm more happy with this than i was with the Jackson version, It's more gothic, dark and moody Rob
