  1. So as long as I get a body with the AANJ style neck, I should be ok?
  2. I have an Ibanez RG4EX1 that I had refinished and the guy mutilated it! I need to get a new body and start from scratch at this point. I was looking on eBay and found one that looks like mine, but it's a different model. Does anyone know if I can use the neck from mine on a RG370DXGP1? Thanks, Steve
  3. Thanks. Obviously I'm new at this. I'm having a friend paint it for me. Do I need to ask him what type of paint he uses to find out what type of sealer and primer I need to use? Thanks a lot for your help here...
  4. This is probably a simple question for most you, but I'm wondering what type of grain filler to use if I'm planning to paint the guitar. I know it probably makes a difference if you're going to stain or paint the body and I just want to make sure I do this right the first time. The body is basswood and isn't in bad shape at all. I just want to make sure I get the best, smoothest finish possible. I would really appreciate any help/advice.
  5. Anyone have any used, white evolution pick ups they're looking to sell?

  7. Thanks! I'm hoping for either a black one or a black/chrome logo if possible. Thanks, Steve I think I can get one for you, gimme a bit.
  8. Does any have a vector logo of the Ibanez Jem headstock decal that they could send to me? Thanks, Steve
  9. I know this topic has been discussed over and over again on this site, but I'm wondering if there are any new/better/easier procedures for creating a nice swirl paint job than what the tutorial on this site describes. I would love to talk to people that do this technique in their homes (like I would be doing it) and see what you've done and learned in the process. Feel free to email me directly at steve.scovill@gmail.com if you'd like since this topic is so often discussed on this board (don't want to bore or annoy anyone). Thanks, Steve
  10. Has anyone ever tried doing the swirl painting technique on a piece of canvas? Cool make for some fun, cool art pieces... Thanks, Steve
  11. Has anyone ever tried the swirl painting technique on a piece of canvas? Could make for some cool "modern art" pieces...
  12. I'm' not sure if this is the right place for this question, so if not, I apologize. I work for a print shop that has a flat bed printer. I made a template, etc...to print double sided guitar picks. Now, I just need to find some blank guitar picks, which is difficult because all the picks retailer shops carry have a logo on one side. Does any know where I might be able to find completely blank picks? Thanks, Steve
  13. Altering the height of the nut will only effect buzz on the first fret. If fret 2 is buzzing, when you hold the string down in fret 1 position, then either raise the bridge or add some relief to the neck (assuming the frets are all level and the neck angle is correct) Yeah, that's the thing. I don't really know where to start to fix it...
  14. I've got an Ibanez with FR trem and locking nut system. I seem to have a lot of fret buzz from frets 1-5. I already have two shims under the locking nut and wondered if anyone had any ideas to fix the problem. Should I simply shim it again? Would removing the tree help? Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks, Steve
  15. I did but never found any. Guess I'll keep looking. Thanks for the reply.
  16. If you have the dragon design in a vector format, I can make it for you out of vinyl and you can just apply it to the cover instead of inlaying it. Steve
  17. Has anyone ever seen any colored tuning pegs? I'm running out of things to customize on my guitar and thought these might be a cool touch. Do they exist? Thanks, Steve
  18. I have a Marshall MG15CD amp that I've honestly used all of 4 times. It's still obviously in brand new condition. However, since I obviously don't use it often enough, I thought I'd offer it to someone who would use it and actually make some cool sounds come out of it instead of what I do to the poor thing. Anyway, if you're interested, I'm selling it for $75 (including shipping) in the continental US. Drop me a line if you have questions or want to buy it. My email is steve.scovill@gmail.com. Thanks, Steve
  19. Instead of me trying to explain it all...check out these links to see everything. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/sscovill/body.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/sscovill/TrussRod.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/ssc...ndFretboard.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v487/ssc...hromeTuners.jpg The guitar is unassembled. I only laid all the electronics and knobs in the body for the photo. I even have all the pots for it. The pickups are "generic" humbuckers. You'll get everything you see for $100 including shipping within the US. All you need is the skill and time (which I didn't have) to finish it. Email me directly at steve.scovill@gmail.com if you want to chat about it. Steve
  20. Looking for an Ovation Celebrity solid body with the wooden leaf accents. If you have one that you're trying to sell, please email me directly with all the details. Thanks, Steve steve.scovill@gmail.com
  21. Bolt on. Email me and I can send you pics. steve.scovill@gmail.com
  22. I've got a project Les Paul guitar that I'm selling off. I simply don't have the time or resources to put into it anymore. I've got all the parts needs to complete it, though they all still need work shaping, fitting, etc... I've got all the electronics, pots, speed knobs, tuners, rosewood FB with REAL MOP split block inlays. The body is mahogany and is painted but can obviously be sanded down and redone to your design. It's been modified with a standard neck pocket instead of the true Les Paul style pocket. The neck is unfinished mahogany. It's a perfect project for a beginner or parts/pieces for beater project for other builders. $150 including shipping anywhere in the US. Email me if you're interested at steve.scovill@gmail.com Thanks, Steve
  23. I know model/hobby stores carry small cans of it so I'm sure you can find it around in larger cans. If not, buy several small cans.
  24. Yeah, I've seen their stuff and have seen others online, I just always like to see if any members in here do stuff like this before buying it from someone else. Thanks...
