  1. yea that wnt work. shady type party. she claims she doesnt know where it went. wnt give any names of people at the party. somer of her friends guitars and pedals and all went missing to so it seems specialized and most likely for some1 who wants it. its a real shady thing and who knows if ill ever get it back. thankfully my amp was at the repair store. and yes of course we called the police. numerous other thigns went missing. they have the serial number and are on the look out for it. thanks for the help so far and any more that you can give.
  2. no back plate over tremolo. extra holes underneath pickguard. ding in the bottom back and burn mark on the neck close to the body. serial number MZ3170380. stolen in dresher pa. enough extra info? the extra holes from underneath the pickguard are from when i changed the pickguard to a tortise shell one and then back to the original. email me at jimhndrx3@comcast.net if you got any idea of where i can look or have seen it or anything would really be great. and i put a message up on the global guitar registry like southpa suggested. my sister threw a party when my family and i were away on vaction and the guitar was stolen.
  3. stolen mexican standard strat 3 tone brown sunburst with black dimarzio cliplock strap. stolen while i was on vaction. serial number MZ3170380 any information regarding this wouuld be appreciated. keep your eye out for it. and let me know here if any1 sees it.
  4. their great fretboards man. my friend has one on his sg project it looks great. its worth a buy. plus worst comes to worst you can re-sell here or on ebay
  5. http://cgi.ebay.com/ROSEWOOD-INLAYS-GUITAR...1QQcmdZViewItem out bid this guy..... its such a great buy
  6. bad news........ its not working. i tripped on the cord a little while ago (my rooms a tangle of them) and it feel and something cracked. no power isgoing through. im real sorry to get your hopes up man. there is a one year replacement warranty though so if you want to wait a week or so there will be a brand new one?
  7. it has the foot switch and ac adaptor as well as the carrying case and the original box. before we make a final deal what would shipping be from philadelphia, pennsylvania to where you live. im strapped for cash and cant pay too much
  8. yea sounds like a plan. i even figure i'll start a fight club revolution. anyway i expanded my guitar idea to an enitre finish of all the great blues players that influenced me so far ive got robert johnson (of course) son house elmore james charley patton muddy waters buddy guy hubert sumlin jimi hendrix johnny winter b.b. king eric clapton john lee hooker stevie ray vaughn i know im missing some so just let me know if you have any additions
  9. well im assuimg this worked then. just put up a picture if you can. itd be cool to see waht you did with it
  10. yea thatd be pretty nice. getting money for having a picture of my guitar up. im only 15 so i could defintely use that cash towards the les paul studio ive been saving up for for the past year. eh wishful thinking huh?
  11. yes those are the only 2 pictures of robert johnson that are known. i just want to be sure that im not doing anything illegal in making a tribute guitar to him. he's the reason i started playing guitar so i figured id make sure everytime i play i remember the man who got me started.
  12. i just re-did a teisco e-120 guitar with new pickguard and electronics and pickups. then i sanded down the old sunburst paint job and i pasted a picture of robert johnson onto the body. i painted the rest black and am about to clear coat the guitar. my question is: is having a picture of robert johnson on my guitar copyright infringement for whoever owns the rights to that picture? i dont plan on selling the guitar but i did want to use it in guitarmaggeddon which is comnig up but if i win any level of the competition would that be considered gaining money of some1s copyright? this is why i have not posted a picture yet. i may be panicking for no reason but i just want to be safe.
  13. i just read through the whole thread. sorry its my first paint job and im over thinking it if anything so that i dont mess up. its a robert johnson tribute guitar. basically a tesico i fixed up new pickups and pickguard. then i sanded it down and have glued a picture of robert johnson from his studio recordings album to the front and i plan to finish the rest of the guitar in black. just wanted to make sure im not messing anything up.
  14. yes i did see that. but i dont know what he means by jet. and it doesnt answer my quesiton about when i put the color paint down. it is just concered with the clear coat. i want to know if you just paint the wood your choosen color and go from there.
  15. ok ive read all the tutorials about painting and all and this is a dumb question but i am doing a black finish. do you paint the wood black with no prepping or anything let it dry and then clear coat? or do you prep the word paint it black and then the clear coat stuff. havent been able to figure it out and i dont want to mess up the paint
  16. i have personally never painted a tolex case but i have painted an SKB hardshell case with regular spray paint.... van halen strips on the back. it turned out real good and as much as i abuse it and believe me i do... back and forth on 2 buses to and from school every day bashed around etc.. the paint is still almost enitrely there... its worn away a tiny bit in places but not a chip yet.. the wearing away is due to the fact that i didnt put clear coat protector or something on it. srry to get off topic. to answer your questoin im sure painting tolex would be fine... just wipe down the surface and make it clean where you want to paint take your time let it dry apporiately and all that and then i highly highly reccomend a clear coat finish to protect it from flaking and wear.
  17. mine isnt quite as bad as that one but id have to agree its in pretty bad shape... mines got dot inlays and hardware and all is good electronics arent noisy but as you can tell i was hoping to get at most like $300 for it if even that. the other guitar guitar center is willing to pay me $800 for and then if i trade in my mexi strat as well i'll have enough money for the les paul studio thats on sale right now.... i think it may be discontinued because it is a natural faded brown finish like on some SG's and ic ant seem to find anything similar on gibsons website. thanks for all the help though worth a shot
  18. i have a riverhead guitar by headyway.... strat inspired body very light... has a dual rocker trem and locking nut the brand name is printed on guitar body. its finished in black. dnt have a pciture right now but if anyone has any information on this guitar as to its value please let me know or just general information on it. im looking to trade it in along with washburn ea-20n acoustic electric festival series so that i can get this les paul studio in faded brown ive been wanting or a firebird studio, maybe even a firebird VII if this guitar is worth enough. so let me know and thanks in advance for any help.
  19. wow... great stuff. you know of any other websites like this one?
  20. welcome to the forum man.... lot of good stuff in here i hope you find everything you need
  21. thanks nitefly i will take into account the battery usage.. actually that being said ill probably leave it out... and i did see the other forums.... im trying to get an idea if this is too much for a guitar and peoples opionons/comments/advice on this guitar design, improving it etc.
  22. another mistake to avoid is map out exactly where you want your pickups to be and make sure the strings will be over the polepieces... i did not do this correctly on my first guitar (tesico e-120) and the pickguard and routing as all off so while the bridge pup was fine the neck is off so that 5 of the strings are located in between two pole pieces.. don't make that mistake.
  23. yea your right sorry its my first time doing this. being as its my first time i was thinking buy the body and neck from warmoth. or i would like to cut the body myself it that is cheaper and i would be able to pull it off. neck i dont want to attempt yet. if i do cut the body i would like to just put a stop bar because i dont have enough knowledge to install a floyd rose yet and i would like to put it all together from parts myself. i can wire all the electronics up myself. basically what im asking is if people think that this would be a good guitar design to work on or if i should plan it out more. and also if they think its a better learning experience for me to start out cutting my own guitar body and going fro mthere or if i should work my way up to it. i mean it easy way easier to just bolt on parts to a premade body and its way more your own if you do it yourself i just dont know if i should attempt it yet. i hvae cut a pickguard and inserted new pups and electronics into a tesico along with new tuning pegs and a bridge and i want to graduate from that. just let me know what is the best idea.. and sorry for being all over the place above^ and for the built in delay and/or preamp i was thinking of getting the circutry from a delay pedal and building it into the guitar with the knobs and a mini switch so i can siwtch it on and off.. and an on - off switch with the preamp if i do that.
  24. first off is the string spacing the same on the two point trem as the vintage trem if it is you should be able to mount it in place of the out screws no problem. im trying to visualize this and not having a ton of luck.... do you have any pictures of the guitar and/or bridge in question. i have a strat with a vintage trem myself and a picture of the bridge i can work off would be nice http://www.aampselectricguitarstore.com/lr...gs_xbridge.html ok i researched it and i found some info on the bridge... according to what i found you should be able to mount it directly where the vintage trem outer screws are... now is this being done to a pre existing body or are you going to cut a body in the strat style and mount this bridge? because if its pre-existing you can just place the bridge in the position stew mac tells you and then where the outer screws for the vintage trem are.. that way at least visually you can line it up and see which looks right maybe even get a real low gauge string and see how it lines up that way
