i recentlly came across a replica gibson acoustic with a dime size hole about 2 inches under the bridge. is it possibe to fix it if i refinish the guitar or is it junk?

i have a ibanez AX, in the process of being repainted. my question is that i only play with the bridge pick-up, do you think it will affect the tone of the guitar if i fill in the neck pick-up hole with a piece of hard wood before it gets painted?
