  1. I'm what the 10mm means. the bushing has vertical ridges (i'm not sure of the proper terminology). Is the 10mm the outside of the ridges, which would mean that I need to drill my hold slightly smaller. Or is 10 mm the the actual rounded part without the ridges that would mean that probally a 10mm hole would be good. I thought some folks used a small amout of super glue to harden the wood. They treated the hole with superglue and then pressed on the bushing after the glue had hardened.
  2. I have a wilkinson that i'm installing and everything I can find indicates that the bushing is 10MM. What would be the best size hole to drill for this bushing. Do you just press it in? I thought I heard that it might be better to treat the hole with some kind of glue before installing. It is soft wood ( basswood). Thanks Steve
  3. I have a Wilkinson trem that the posts are wider than most that I've seen here. It is a 102 and the posts are about 64mm apart. When should I drill and install the inserts? Before finishing?
  4. I bought a Wilkinson Trem off ebay. I'm told it is a VT of VS102. Where can I find a routing template? It looks like the studs are about 64 mm apart.
  5. Will these inserts work for a bolt on neck? [url=http://www.constantines.com/search.asp?7=threaded]
  6. I want to install a Wilkinson. I think it is a VT 50 or VS 50. I was going to install a Kahler flatmount because it looked easier but I can't find a good one at a reasonable price.
  7. I'm building my first guitar body with my son. I am very uncomfortable with mounting the trem. Does anyone have a good way to align the trem and drill the holes for the studs. I've used a template from a book but it seems like the slightest bit off and the strings will be out of alignment with the neck. Is there any to align the bridge after the studs are installed. Any studs with a concentric adjustment?
  8. I would like to review this drawing. Did the links get posted yet. If not could someone forward the DWG and pdf file to sdp1234@comcast.net. Thanks
  9. A copy of that file would be great. DWG and PDF please. SDP1234@comcast.net Thanks
  10. I have the guitar cutout and routed. We are ready to start carving the back and front. How deep is the taper? (how much do I take off the edges of the front and back?) I was thinking that once I find out I could route the edges and work may tapers out to this thickness on the edge.
  11. I'm building my first guitar. It is going to loosly follow the Ibanez JS body style. We will be building the body only. I have a bolt on neck that I plan to use. What is the best way to have everything line up? I was thinking of making a routing template from the drawing that I have. Is it better ot have one template with everything or make separate templates for the neck, pup and Trem?
  12. Can someone tell me what the thikness is on ths JS series Ibanez guitars? What about the SA160 series? Thanks
  13. I just bought my first body blank from them. They are located 20 miles from where I live so I just stopped by and picked it up. I needed a 3 piece basswood body ( Can't really mess that up). If I knew how to tell the different grades of wood apart I would check it out and give a report. I need more experiance before I can help. They did let me choose what piece I wanted. It was a lot smaller place than I expected from the web site.
  14. I downloaded Turbocad 2 and the JS1000 file. How do I size it correctly? When I go to print it says it will be 100 bages and it looks like the drawing is very large even though it is supose to be a 1-1 scale. Thanks
