ive done this before, quite a while ago. just use a standard strat kinda 5-way wiring diagram : http://www.axesrus.com/images/5WAYJAP.jpg and connect the humbuckers up as single coils (connect cold output from one coil to hot on the other coil) (if i remeber right) unless he wants coil taps on the humbuckers, which will make everything very complicated, so shhhh dont tell him if he hasnt asked!! hope this helps, will edit: ok im abit of an idiot, ure using a rotary switch, im not sure how that will afect the diagram, as i havnt used them before. ile need 2 do some reading !

check all shielding, you can buy sticky-back metal foil, that seems to work pretty well for your cavities, also try using another amp, as pauseflash says, it could just be the noise from your amp, do you play it loud? if you have it turned up loud, when you arnt playing, the amp will just be amplifying its own internal noise. also it could be mains hum, again from the amp. maybe try another mains socket somewhere else in the house. hope this helps, will

excuse me if im a retard and not understanding here, but cant u just use a standard strat-style 5-way selector wiring? i rewired an ibanez jem once for a guy, and it sounded awsum when it was finishd, i cant remeber th exact wiring but i cud probs draw it up if its what ure wanting. it goes like this: 1: neck pickup 2:neck + middle 3: neck + middle + bridge 4: middle + bridge 5: bridge then u jus send th output from the 5-way to the volume and tone controls. i found with the ibanez that this gave a really large range of tones, and it actualy only took me 15 mins or so to do the actualy wiring!! if this is what ure wanting, ile draw up a diagram for you, just email da_free_runner@hotmail.com and let me know, as im not always on this

ok ive done abit more tinkering and now i have around 120 volts AC running into the fan terminals but stil no fan movement so i guess its the fan next step = pull apart fan and see whats up amazing dat - i answered mi own post will

hey everyone, first topic ive posted in a while, but i need a bit of help lol i just bought a citronic ppx 450 second hand, and turned it on for a test, and it works fine except that i noticed that the fan does not switch on ive opened it all the way up, and given it a looking over, and started continuity testing the wiring starting from the fan, but so far i cant find anything wrong i also checked for a voltage on the terminals of the fan while the amp was on, and still nothing. any ideas?? thanks in advance, will blake

jus remembered i think its sumthing to do with making sure ground makes contact before the signal and the signal breaks before ground what you need to do is work out a way to switch without disconnecting ground, ile c what i can come up with http://www.loop-master.com/catalog/product...&products_id=68 try this maybe??

ther should be a easy way to eliminate the switching pop, if i remember right the pop is caused by the ground being disconnected and reconnected, am i right?? you can get guitar cables that have a device in the jack so they dont pop when you unplug you guitar, im gonna look at how they work so i shud b able 2 work something out for you. p.s. try going on google and searching for bypass unit diagrams- i have seen popless bypass units, i just cant remember where

umm.. not wanting 2 take the piss, but have you tried a 10w BB Blaster? they are very low wattage but they seem 2 have quite a high output, i have 1 of them which i modded so it runs through 2 aiwa stereo cabinets and it works just loud enough to be heard over my friends drumkit. u get them for about £30 and they are very easy to mod http://www.playrecord.net/bb-blaster-p-2711.html have a look

umm... chaosinc it wud help if we new what exactly u want to do are you trying to set your switch up so you get something like 1. neck humbucker 2. neck and bridge humbucker 3. bridge humbucker if u explain in a bit more depth im sure i will be able to get you diagrams

you could try EMG pickups?? failing that try blade pickups, what is the matter with them being high output? im sure u could find a way to drop the output if you want, a limiting resistor or something 2 that effect.

okay thanks ppl the diagrams are helping, im using most of the wiring already in my guitar, and wiring the stuff for the 3way switch to the 5way switch so i can include the single coil + im adding a SPST switch to switch the single coil on and off. im thinking of using the unused 3way switch for switching sum onboard electrics but donno yet. i dunno why i want all the coils in use at once guess i just want 2 see what it sound like anyway thanks for clearing it up a bit for me, will

okay, i saw a diagram in a book for the wiring layout steve vai uses which was designed by a guy from dimarzio, it goes sumthing like this. theres a 5 position switch and heres what th positions are 1. bridge facing coil of neck humbucker 2. neck humbucker and single coil 3. neck and bridge humbeckers + single coil 4. bridge humbucker and single coil 5. neck facing coil of bridge humbucker i want 2 create th same kind of setup for my vintage metal axxe razor, which is fitted with 2 wilkinson humbuckers and i want 2 fit a single coil pickup between them. im pretty good with electronics but im more used 2 computer systems and repairing stuff.thediagramisvery unclear. im not 2 bothered about using 1 coil on th humbuckers but if possible i would, does anyone have any ideas of a suitable circuit layout? the components i have lying about are 3 500k pots 1 5 position switch that says alpha on the side (makers name?) 3 single coil pickups plus the electrics already in th guitar 2 wilkinson humbuckers 1 500k pot 1 500k pull/push pot 1 3way switch if anyone can come up with a schematic that meets th steve vai specifications above, i would be very grateful thanks, will blake
