  1. I've though of that idea from time to time as most of us probably have. Steinberger had a modle that the body was 2 poles and that pickup could be moved to any posision and changed/added in a few moments... Anyone ever looked at an Ampeg Dan Armstrong model? The pickup is epoxy potted or something similar... And slides in from the side. the guitar has contacts that touch contacts on the pickup box... a simple idea that worked great. Only problem is that the big boys don't want you to be able to switch up on the fly... they want you to buy 3 guitars!
  2. You shouldn't have to route the hole deeper. Also I don't think anyone mentioned that Fender makes a pickup for there higher end american series called "Vintage Noisless." They sound like early Fender pickups but are hum canceling... Also, if you aren't looking for single sound but less 60 cycle hum there is always shielding...
  3. I'm looking to change my tele setup. I currently have a Duncan "cool rails" humbucker in the bridge and the standard single coil in the neck. I'm using 500k pots, 1 vol, 1 tone, a 3 way switch and a coil tap... I'm not overly happy with the my tone. I'm looking to get a little more treble when I use the humbucker as a single... Could I just add a cap to my coil tap to add some treble? ...what value? Should I use different value pots? I've seen tele setups with all 250k, 1 meg and a 250k and some other variations... Can anyone make a few suggestions?
