  1. I grew up in the Dallas area watching Pantera go from small clubs to tours with Black Sabbath....really gonna miss that.
  2. Yeah, the machines would be nice.....owning a Wayne guitar would also be nice!
  3. If anyone is into Wayne Guitars, they've posted some construction videos on the site. Worth checking out. http://www.wayneguitars.com/workshop_video.html
  4. Drak, Where in the world do you get all this great wood? I have seen some of the Conklin guitars use the same stuff and it is stunning.
  5. daveq, I really dig the Lynch style stuff....I've been taking a break from this stuff for awhile and intend to do something similar soon. Ive got the Lo Pro and tuners on the way, in the vintage silver that is on the JemVSBL. Haven't figured out the finish yet, though.
  6. Cool fretboard cut. Is it gonna extend past the neck?
  7. I was wondering if anyone was going to make that association. He was a big reason why I started playing guitar. I always wanted a Kami but couldn't afford one. This was inspired by the Kami but has some differences in shape, ... It is recessed and routed for pull-up. I used a Schaller Floyd with a 14" radius. I like the George Lynch ESP stuff...I gotta chance to play the first Kami's that came out...loved it. I really want the Serpent, which I beleive they have discontinued this year. When I get to a point when I feel a little more confident, I wanna build a Kami style with the recessed floyd. Questions again: Did you have to make the body thicker to recess the floyd?
  8. WAY COOL!!! I like the 'George Lynch ESP' thing going on....the inlay is great, I love skulls. Questions: Did you recess the floyd? Which floyd did you use? What is the radius on the floyd?
  9. On the website it says that the guitar was built 2/3 scale...I think the top is curly ash...really nice stuff.
  10. THAT is unbelievable...that is the kind of stuff that I am striving for.....absolutely amazing figure!
  11. daveq, Careful on the thin stuff:
  12. YDoesGodMockMeSo, Looks good so far. I used the JPM from the download section (other than the handle, I don't see much diffence between the JPM and the JEM, except for maybe the JEM has a deeper cutaway maybe) to make the body below. As far as suggestions, just do what you want with the routes, it is your guitar. lovekraft, When you have used the CA to fill, have you ever had any problems with staining or tung oiling? Does the glue create "gaps" or "streaks" from not taking the stain or oil?
  13. I think part of it might be availability. The places that I go for body wood rarely have pieces over 8 inches wide. That's my two cents worth.
  14. Makes sense......I had thought about that, just wasn't sure if anyone else has tried it. Thanks alot for your input and enjoy your wood!
  15. Nice stuff....I managed to pick this up yesterday. It's curly maple that is 7/8in X 9in X 6ft. Would like to know how you bookmatch with a table saw and hand saw. I would like to be able to bookmatch for tops, etc.
