  1. turbo411 2. Back to my post above (2nd picture) as to why the sweepers on the tone pot are wired differently. fryovanni's explanation is quite good but I'm wondering if another reason for that wiring is saving money. That diagram illustrates the way a Fender Stratocaster is wired. Just guessing but from what I have heard about Leo Fender, he liked to find ways to cut costs. (I do not know whether this was due to his being cheap OR so that he could sell his guitars as cheaply as possible. - Maybe a little of both huh? ) So, by wiring a guitar in that way, you save the cost of a capacitor and it is 2 less solder connections that have to be made. It's also reducing the chances of something going wrong with the finished product because of 1 less part and 2 less solder joints. Oh, and that diagram is from my website. wolf
  2. Ben and Lovekraft I appreciate the fact that you took action so quickly although I was happy enough to give myself the credit. Really, I did not want to get anyone in trouble. This seems like a nice message board and I didn't think anyone was trying to deceive anyone. Again, good luck with those wiring projects.
  3. Ben That's a terrific graphic you posted. (Well, it is from my website www.1728.com ) Some website owners don't like people "hotlinking" their graphics but I usually don't mind if it is to a message board, such as this one. Seems like I should update my graphics at least to show where they come from. Good luck with your rewiring projects folks.
