    First Reiver Guitar. All the woods used where supplied by Tasmanian Tonewoods. The guitar was built for Robert the owner and one of my main suppliers. Carved Blackwood top and back with Houn Pine core. She Oak finger board with 7 piece Celery Top Pine/Myrtle/Houn Pine/Blackwood. Schaller 3D bridge Hipshot Locking tuners, Dunlop Dual Design straplocks. P90 pickups into an East Tone Lifter circuit volume 4 way selector. Satin finish.

    Spec Camphor Burl top and back with a Flame Sycamore body. Bubinga/Flame maple neck with a bookmatched Acrylic Impregnated Spalted Maple finger board. The fingerboard and the Camphor both came from Larry at Gallery Hardwoods. Custom 15 mm string spacing ETS bridge/tuners and ABM headpiece. ACG SB pickups and the EQ01 pre-amp. Oil finish.

    A bit more done on Dave's bass. The pickup routes have been done and the tuning unit attached and the bass strung up for the first time. The pickup is just there wired straight to a jack to give me a signal to tune the bass and check the intonation in order to get the position of the bridge unit containing the saddles.

    More done on the Finn today. Neck carved and the body contouring mostly done. Pickup routes done as well.

    First 4 string single cut. Amboyna top mahogany core with a flame sycamore back. 5 piece maple/mac ebony neck with an Ebony finger board. 2 RFB with the ACG EQ01 pre-amp.

    4 piece wenge/bubinga body. 7 piece maple/wenge neck with an Acrylic impregnated Ziracote finger board. ACG EQ01 pre-amp with 18 volt supply, ACG FB pickups with coil switching,low battery indicator. Hipshot Type A Ultralites and Schaller straplocks. Finish lacquer.

    Blackheart Sassafras top with a white limba body. Purpleheart/wenge /flame sycamore neck with acrylic impregnated Zebrano finger board. Zebrano knobs made by THG. SB and FB narrow format passive electronics volume 4 way rotary switch used to combine the picks. This gives you bridge/bridge/neck in series?bridge/neck in parallel/neck. Second rotary switch is for coil switching in the neck pickup. A good range of sounds are produced with this set up.

    Been a while since I posted so a few basses to show what I have been doing for the last few months. Body core in Swamp Ash with a Mahogany top. 7 piece Wenge/Maple neck with a book matched Acrylic impregnated Spalted Maple finger board. 2 ACG FB pickups with coil switching and a Hipshot A Type bridge with piezo saddles. Bridge pickup and piezo are switchable before the feed into the lowpass filter on the ACG EQ01 pre=amp. This allows the bass to be set up as bridge pickup and neck pickup or piezo and neck pickup. Full EQ of the piezo is allowed with his set up and blending between the piezo on the neck pickup. East low battery indicator.

    Scoops bass finished and picked up at Bassday. Black Limba with a spalted Beech top. Wenge/Black Limba neck. Spalted Acrylic impregnated finger board ACG EQ01 pre-amp ACG FB humbuckers.

    9 string with the neck now in the body and various cavities sorted out.

    I will have the Camphor Recurve 4 Harlot 6 Finn 4 fretless. Skelf 5. Harlot R Type. There will also be a few customer basses about as well. This is the last one to be finished. Harlot R Type prototype. Santos Rosewood top with 5 mm Zebrano accent and an American Black Walnut body. 7 piece neck Mac Ebony/Bubinga/Maple/Wenge. Acrylic impregnated Zebrano finger board 35" scale alloy side dots and no radius. ABM bridge Hipshot Ultralites Schaller straplocks. ACG EQ01 ACG SB pickups ceramic magnet in the bridge Alnico in the neck. Finish Lacquer.

    For a bit of a change today I actually got some woodwork done instead of the constant finishing I have been doing for the last 3 weeks. Got the neck into the body of the 9 string. I had to make up a sub base for my router as the pocket was so wide the router would have toppled into the cavity which would have made accuracy almost impossible. So one piece of 12mm acrylic later I was up and running.

    Thanks guys. Yes a bit of a departure in that respect and as we talked about before it is less complicated which does make for a easier build. Although picking black is not really making life easy,hard work getting it as good as possible. Black shows up everything but I can't resist the end result. Midnight blue sounds very nice. I have quiet a few body blanks coming in with solid colours in mind so I will certainly keep that in mind. Alan

    A few firsts in this bass. Finn prototype body shape and also a piezo bridge. Spec Alder body with a 3 piece Flame Maple neck and Indian Ebony finger board. Alloy side dots 16" radius. Hipshot bridge with Graphtech piezo saddles and an ACG RFB pickup. ACG EQ01 pre-amp with the piezo feeding on of the low pass filters and the RFB the other. This allows full EQ over the piezo and the RFB and also allows you to blend the two. Thanks to John East for the additional electronics required to get this to work.

    Spec Sappy Redwood top with a Black Limba body. 7 piece mac ebony/maple/black limba/maple neck with an Acrylic impregnated Mac Ebony board. ACG EQ01 pre-amp with a RFB in the bridge and a FB in the neck coil switching and low battery indicator. Hipshot hardware. Finish Lacquer.

Spec Goncalo Alves top and back with a butternut core. 7 piece neck Mac Ebony/Maple/Black Limba/Maple with a flat Rosewood finger board alloy side dots 34" scale. ACG EQ01 pre-amp with a SB in the bridge and aRFB in the neck. Hipshot hardware in Satin chrome, Schaller straplocks.

ACG EQ01 pre-amp with ACG FB pickups ceramic magnet in the bridge Alnico magnet in the neck. Satin chrome Hipshot Type A bridge and matching Ultralites. Chrome knobs and Schaller Straplocks. Finish lacquer.

ACG EQ01 pre-amp and ACG FB pickups ceramic magnet in the bridge Alnico magnet in the neck. Hipshot Type A bridge and Ultralites,schaller straplocks. Finish lacquer.
