  1. alright, its time for the clear coat. i have no idea where to start, what to buy, or anything. so please if you can help me out here i would really appriciate it. im on a spray can budget because auto body shops want way too much and i would really like to have done all this myself. thanx xadamx
  2. so i woke up about a week ago and took an early morning stroll around the block, i walked up on a First act bass in a trash can (probably for good reasons) and the only thing wrong with it is the nut was broken. so i took it to the local music store to get a nut and have it put on figuring it wouldnt be more than a couple of bux when the guy at the counter said it would be 25 dollars to fix it because he had to custom fit one (he is full of **** too.). so i ordered a nut off of ebay for 50 cents and it fit right in. i got all black hardware and im in the process of painting it and i will post pictures in a few day. wish me luck. xadamx
  3. how did you get the paper to fit so well on the curves and bends of the body?
  4. on the info about em it says they can either be wired as active or not.
  5. ok so i think i am gonna buy some emg select humbuckers to put in my les paul. one of my bros told me that they dont sound all that great, but my playing style is hardcore which is 75% palm muted opens and the rest it within the first couple of frets nad no solos what so ever. if anyone can give me help or feedback on these, and if you need to see the one im looking at i will post up a link. thanx xadamx
  6. hey bro check this site, tis what ive been going off of. http://www.shredaholic.com/painting.html
  7. well i laid the olive green down this morning and painted the neck black again and laid the graphics out on the headstock so that is done until i clear it. so to get the camo design on do i mask it off then draw on the shapes for the first color, and after i have them on cut them out with a razor blade?
  8. yeah dude, that helps a ton. im still struggling to find a pattern i like, i think i may just wing it and go at it on my own and hope for the best.
  9. man that is an awesome job. since i was using flat colors anyway i didnt think i would have to sand between em, and will the clear coat make the more vibrant instead of the dull flat?
  10. and do i have to sand again after the primer is on? xadamx
  11. thanx for the help. im putting alot into my guitar and i want it to be perfect. i dont want to spend money on some pots and have em be crap. xadamx
  12. do brands make a difference or will any ol 500k pot (new of course) be the same as any other? xadamx
  13. alright, so this is my first project. i bought a epiphone special for 30 bux. it was in rough shape, the kid i got it from sanded down in random spots and colored it back in with a magic marker not to mention it had a ton of dents, and the hardware was total junk. so i have sold all the stuff that was on it except for the neck plate, cavity cover, and the truss rod cover. i have it sanded and the primer has just now dried. so now i need to know if i can get some tips on how to paint camo. the layout, pattern, if the flat colors will shine up if i put gloss on it. any help i can get is appriciated. thanx xadamx
