  1. Blimey what a cool discussion I'd screw up some bog roll and soak it in paint. Screw it into a ball and break out the catapult
  2. My thicknesser is a 10" jobbie. So I'm going to be 2 piece bodying (I was intending on neck throughs anyway ) At this size you get "portable" ones(they weigh a tonne). Once you start to get bigger than this then you're into the realm of floor standing units. This is way out of my league due to budget and most importantly my workshop being on the 3rd floor of my house. Hold on, I'll find a link to the little beauty. EDIT: Here you go... http://www.nutool.co.uk/ProductCatalogue.a...ing%2FMachinery I also got the bench jointer

    Jet

Sucked ass when they played at Glastonbury. Absolute dog toss. Aparently they had a row before going on stage (that'll make a change then ) As for Jet - yeah, they're alright. Unoffensive anyway. As for the comments about music today being of the brown and squidgy variety.... .... well as long there was music, there was always crap. Look at the 60's - plenty of good music but then there was Lulu and Cilla Black, honest to god Cilla goddamn Black. Take the 70's and Donny sodding Osmand etc etc. There are plenty of decent bands now: Kings of Leon Snow Patrol (wasn't really a fan until I heard the awesome new album) Black Rebel Motorcycle Club The Zutons just to name 4 snow patrol! oh come on. That's what I would have said, until I listened to the new album (or maybe it's the first album) Oh, I forgot about British Sea Power
  4. Tell you what, if it's not gone by pay day I'll have it. Don't worry about it if someone else jumps in and has it because I haven't started the project that will need it yet. I'd prefer someone to use it instead of it sitting in a box at my house until I need it. Pay day is in 3 weeks BTW

  8. Well I'm back at work today, got in this morning and my bandsaw has arrived over the holidays It's only little but I hope that it should do the job (if I'm careful with it). Over the holidays, I was intending on building a workbench, so I went to the DIY shop and tried to buy the stuff. Unluckily though, they no longer have the facilities to cut wood to length so that I could fit it in the girlfriends tiny car . In the end I had to buy a flat pack workbench, which is very cheep and cheerful but it should do the job (once I put a vice on it anyway). I've also taken over a set of draws that were in the spare bedroom and are now full of plans and sandpaper. I've also put two big holes in the side of the duvan bed so that I could keep tools in there . After a bit of rejigging of the bedroom, I know have a workshop and there isn't really much else I have to buy (exept for maybe a door and a shopvac) Pics soon
  9. Drak, Have a set up something like this: http://www.mikesguitarsite.co.uk/gear/pink...hp?page=effects That's more than enough buttons, even for me
  10. Most of the new tools arrived this morning - Thicknesser, Planer/Jointer and pillar drill. Got two problems though: 1) I think I over estimated how much space there is in the spare room This will take a rethink and a bit of moving stuff around. I'm definately going to have to build a work bench (or preferably a shed) 2) The thicknesser came in about 20 parts. Mainly due to the massive hole in the side of the box causing the on/off button box to be shattered. There is also something big, metal and yellow floating around by the mechanism so I don't think I'll turn it on. Well actually come to think about it, I can't turn it on because the buttons missing. Oh well gives me time to think about where to put all this stuff. I'll try to post some pics of the rather small work room after christmas.
  11. Jon Bell who is on the board occasionally sells pups with a vaneer over the top of the bobbin. Hold on I'll find the link http://www.swinesheadpickups.com <--- Not boxed in but they look tasty
  12. No worries, it's probably a good job that my pillar drill didn't arrive yesterday like it was supposed to then Cheers for not letting me hurt mysef
  13. Devon, I'm in the early stages of a bit of research into carbon fibre for a project too. Could you send me any good links to doing it yourself if you have any? Cheers dude. Kaj
  14. Cheers anyway. Like a muppet though, I forgot to say that I'm in the UK
