  1. Just call up ReRanch and ask, they're very helpful. You're probably looking for an Artic White. Not sure, but that may be a tricky application to achieve that transparent light blond look. I used their butterscotch nitro in a can and did my necks on my teles and love the results.
  2. I just bout a Squier Affinity Tele for my daughter. The neck and headstock are barely finished, in fact the wood feels near bare, kinda nice really. Anyhow, the log on the headstock looks like it's screened and is black. I'd like to remove this and put on a custom decal bearing her name. Any ideas to do a clean job? It's for her Christmas present and I'd like it to be special. Thanks!
  3. For that kind of dough with adding everything else- get a Fender Hwy 1 tele. I have one and it's a great guitar. Lots of tone and I happen to like the matte finish. They only run about $700 USD.
  4. Hi, I'm a newbie at refinishing and forgive me if I'm asking a beaten to death question! Here goes- I'm relicing a blonde Hwy 1 tele and it's coming along wonderfully. That matte finish really takes and holds kiwi and it looks great. I did the muriatic acid thing for the chrome and that too came out great- with one exception- my slug barrel was on the back of my workbench. It has grown about 1/8" with bubbly rust, I guess I won't be using THAT anymore! Didn't even see the dang thing as it was under a towel. I don't want to screw up the neck. I need to remove the poly finish on it before commencing with the tinting. Has anyone got a good and somewhat easy way to do do this? I don't want to lose the decal and you should know I am not a super skilled wood worker like most of you folks. Any directions would be much appreciated! Thanks, Jay
