  1. Wonderful neck wood combinations! Looks amazing! Let me ask you something, do you use some sort of jig to cut your scarf joints? It looks perfect in the photos!
  2. Another great tutorial on a Fret Bending Jig with good pics and details: http://www.sixgunguitars.com/fret_bending_jig.html
  3. Congratulations for the work Osório! Parabéns pelo trabalho Osório! Pela Guitar of The Month também!!!
  4. Hi! Impressionant work! Congrats! I'm planning to build one Rick too... What s the thickness of the body of this one? thanks!
  5. Here are some pictures of the woods I'm going to use. Here is the neck blank, I'm going to use a local wood called PAU-MARFIM (Balfourodendron riedelianum) or IVORY-WOOD in English, it's very similar to Maple, but a little harder: Here is the fretboard, it's a piece of Jacarandá-da-Bahia (Dalbergia Nigra) or Brazillian Rosewood, it's a very hard-to-find wood, even here: Following as the Body Blank, it is called Marupá (Simarouba versicolor): For the top I'm going to use a vener of Flamed Goiabão (Pouteria pachycarpa). But I don't have the picture now. This week I'll try to post pictures of my work. I hope you enjoy it.
  6. Hi everyone, It's the first time i post a project here. I'm building a Malcon Young Gretsch copy for a guy who plays in an AC/DC cover band. There are some diferences of my version and the original one, the original have a set neck and my will be with a bolt-on neck and i'm going to use only Brazilian wood in this one. Here is the pic of the original guitar: This is the cad drawing I've made from the pictures:
  7. !!METAL MATT!! The site is in English and the plans have some japanes characters but the measures are all in ocidental characters.
  8. Hello Eddie! I live near São Paulo, in Campinas. It is great to have others friends from South America here. The links looks like to be ok. bye
  9. Hello Friends, Some months ago, someone asked in the forum for a BC Rich Stealth Plan. I found it in an old japanese magazine called "The Rock Guitar Super Manual". I scanned the plans and put it in my web site, the url is: http://helliumguitars.vilabol.uol.com.br/ As I said before, I don't know if the plans are acurate, but I think these are a great source for the outlines of the body. I hope you enjoy it. Helio
  10. Hi, this joint ins called Stephen's Cutway, it was first developed for acoustic guitars to increase the acess to higher frets. It is a great neck joint system. mullmuzzler: It looks like a very accurate plan. Great job man!!!!
  11. Hello, Sorry for my late answer. The plan for the BC Rich Stealth are in my website, the url is: http://helliumguitars.vilabol.uol.com.br/ and the direct link is: http://helliumguitars.vilabol.uol.com.br/stealth.jpg As I said before, I don´t know if the plans are accurate, I just scan it from an old japanese magazine. I hope you like it.
  12. Setch, firstly I would like to congratulate you for the execellent work. I would like to ask you about this "pickup angle", did you calculate it? or it is a free angle between the end of the fingerboard and the bridge? thanks a lot Hélio
  13. hello I use red cedar, marupá and mahogany (mogno) for the bodies, but I think that these woods are not avaible in the north hemisphere. Here whe have other species of woods to work with, for example, as maple are very hard to find here, the guitar necks here in Brazil are made of Pau-Marfim (Ivory Wood) or Mahogany. Hellium
  14. Hi, This plans are from a magazine and I scan it as is... I don't have the real guitar to take mesures and I made a cad plan from these scans and it looks very acurate when I scale it.
