  1. how about ...... ivory/black multi bound body, gold harware and royal blue in satin/matt finish that would look ace but spalt tops do look sexy with a burst
  2. wow i really like it ive always liked the ric bass shape but only the expensive fire glow one with the pickguard .. its like thie classic theme they try to achieve with thier bridge, the goofy looking pickups and knobs collide with the solid colours and lack of binding on the cheaper ones like a classic ric with the modern touch now its time to tackle a 15 string bass like the one ibanez made for fieldy of korn
  3. oh my F*cking gosh that thing is sexual. it would be great to see this shape without wrecking its curves with the warwick type headstock... wade
  4. few guys over at www.7string.org have had it done i think just get in touch with the guys at tone pro's and they should custom drill the piezo slots into one of their 7 string bridges, i think they install the pickups aswell but im not sure. good luck, wade
  5. ive only seen angled pick ups on fanned 8's :/
  6. have you tried one the many clear 'matt' finished you can buy? i dunno how it would work out on a stain but ive painted a few things (not guitars) then finished with a mat coating that i bought from hobby shop and its turned our great
  7. hey guys im new here im in the planning stages at the moment to start making a custom 7 string guitar, im currenty adding to my weapons cache (power tools) before i start, trying to bargain my mates dad into selling he's band saw and drill press that he hasnt used in like 10 years and i aquired a new bocsh router today from bunnings...... any way beeing a proud aussie i was thinking about making the guitar out of queensland maple as ive heard its very "mahogany like" weight and tone wise but ive looked around and apparently its kind of a rarity at the moment well according to forestry qld's info belman and maton both use it in few of thier guitars, is it easy obtainable? is the price over the top or resonable? i havnt checked my local timber yards (lucky thiers a fair few round nsw's midnorth coast) just want to check with you guys if you know the availabilty of qld maple and what slab sizes to expect has any body use qld maple or any other aussie tone woods in a solid body? cheers, wade. that make sense?
