  2. Hey i have a Gibson Les Paul Smartwood..with the stock pickups and the factory wiring job...and it feeds back really bad...its not even feed back...its more like squeels...and i cant really control it..i even just bought a Boss Noise Suppressor which makes none of my other guitars feed back...but the Gibson still does...is there any ways to fix this? could it be a faulty wire or even the pickup? thanks...i realy need help on this one...it hurts my ears!
  3. Hey everyone..i have an F-200 and it is glossy and black...is there way to make it flat black without stripping it and repainting...like a way to make the current paint job flat...and not shiny...thanks!
  4. Im trying to convert a guitar from a string thru to a floyd rose...and i want the floyd to line up perfectly....what methods do you guys use for lining the brige up with the center? thanks
  5. well i just wanted to have 6 holes in the front of my amp...not just sparkly tape...and i didnt really want to mod the pots..is their any way to recess the knobs without sending electricity through the front? and so u guys wont worry..ill wear rubber gloves....haha
  6. Ok so i had another idea on how to mod my JCM 800...this time a little bit more practical...i never touch the knobs on my amp cuz i love my tone the way it is...and i can tell if they have been moved at all...so i thought i would just recess the knobs in the amp...so you coulnt move em..or they couldnt get knocked..so we opened it up and recessed the knobs and turned it on and the amp didnt work..not to mention there was electricity flowing through the front of the amp....i think because the amps pots are grounded to each other and the pots were touching the front panel of the amp...(i got a little buzz from it haha)...so we put it back together and now it works thank god....so my question is... how do i recess the knobs so the amp works and doesnt have electricty flowing through all the metal in the amp? thanks
  7. why are passive pickups grounded to the strings and active grounded to the pots? i just grounded my EMG's to the strings so it wouldnt buzz when i wasnt holding my knob....is there a reason why actives arnt grounded to the strings?
  8. well i wasnt gonna drill holes in it..just strategically place the LEDS...and also why worry about resale value? its the last amp im gonna need..well except for more JCM 800's..and you know how many people have 800's? everybody...i want something to set mine apart from everyone else
  9. well a jcm 800 stack is kind of far from a hoopty...i just like to customize stuff...not cover up cheap equipment
  10. so batteries i guess...i can wire leds to a battery thats not a problem...i was just wondering about the amps power but thats a no for now...and i want the leds just to customize and make it look better...its like why to chinese people light up the floor under their car?
  11. haha yea good point...i forgot solid state amps hold power for like rediculous amounts of time...well could i just wire to a battery and have its own on/off switch? is that practical?
  12. Thanks for the link..but i still dont understand where you get the power from? Like if i wanted to add a light to my amp head, would i use a different source like a battery? or can i tap into the amps power? if i tap the amps power how do i go about doing that? i just see a bunch of wires in there...so thanks for the help...
  13. Ok i know nothing of LEDS and im just trying to get a few questions out of the way. So my idea is that id like to add some leds to my amp. So where does the power for the leds come from? From the amps power source? or something like a battery? and also does this affect the amp at all? i have more questions but we'll start with those for now...thanks
  14. yea we know, theres hella severs, were checking to see whos got the trademark if anyone..i know its all business **** so no one lecture me please haha
  15. ...right....ummm...this must be either my singer or drummer haha
  16. Our drummer just called and said he us quitting the band because he doesnt feel he is good enough for the job...which he really wasnt...but then we were looking at craigslist and saw his ad...look what he said: Ive currently been in a band called sever (www.severband.net), but due to inner band termoil and the fact that i smoke and drink too much i decided to leave that bunch of straightedged ****'s. Ive been playing drums for about 2 years and im always trying to improve my skills. My influences are (in no particular order) slayer, metallica, megadeth , lamb of god, killswitch engage, hatebreed, iron maiden, black sabbath and many more. i have my own drumset and am currently ivesting in a new one. If intrested gimme and e-mail (http://www.craigslist.org/eby/muc/38294725.html) yea...of course being a lazy stoner alcoholic will get you much farther in playing music than working on things. Way to go! Then here's another quote...my night really sucked when i heard this one..this is from my singer brandon: "IM GETING SICK OF US SOUNDING LIKE ALL THOSE OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE, WE SHOULD WRITE SOME LIKE LAMB OF GOD ****" -BRANDON im not even gonna write comentary on that one...they both are real idiots...so anyways..anyone know any singers or drummer from the Bay Area California? haha thanks guys
  17. wow i really like that shape at the bottom! i like everything but the headstock really...i mean dont get me wrong it looks good! just the headstock doesnt work for my taste..but i love the body! Id like one made for me actually...is this possible? id like to play that live with my band..seems like it would look good on me
  18. great choice of a guitar to make...i have a ESP M-II Deluxe and its the coolest guitar...and try to make good notes on your led experience so you can share it with us...i want to try to install led's in my explorers fretboard...looks good tho!
  19. yay it worked! It boost it wayyyy up! Thanks for the help guys!
  20. I have the one channel JCM 800 and yes i do use in front of the amp...that sounds like it would work...because when i do hit the boost it does just add gain...and no volume....ill try it in the effects loop and see what happens..thanks guys!
  21. Ok heres the deal. My guitarist and I both bought a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster to boost us when we go into solos. He plays a Plexi stack and i play a JCM 800 stack. His boost works great and makes it real loud...when i hit my boost...not much happens...so i tried out his pedal thinking mine is broke..and still...no boost...whats going on? were both stumped! Is a JCM 800 just un-boostable? whats the deal? Ive tried using other distortion pedals on top of mine to boost it...and nothing...what the hell? i need some help please? i need my solo heard! Thanks
  22. i plan to go for GOTM when i get some more professional looking pictures at my cousins photo place. Thanks for the complements guys!
