  1. I would guess that its not available because it was posted almost 3 years ago.
  2. I have these books and they are very helpful for beginers, and in the books he recommends not using krylon. I used krylon on 2 guitars anyway and they turned out fine.
  3. Yep that the guy. Some told me the other night that they saw him working there recently but I he was wrong because I noticed last night that he has been out touring with his band Broken Teeth for awhile now. And Yeah I really like DT, I had a picture of me and him. We had the same tattoo so we took a picture together showing them. I think my ex girlfriend stole it because when I got rid of her the picture dissappeared.,
  4. This thread seems to have died about 2-1/2years ago.
  5. Nice. I have been thinking about doing that inlay because I have it tattoed on my shoulder.
  6. Not 100% sure, but if the edit is done before another post is added it does'nt show that it has been edited.
  7. Hey Wes, doesnt Jason McMasters work over at MusicMakers in Austin?
  8. The pickguard is covering my favorite part of the wood
  9. I wasnt saying the knob and guitar were one piece. Look at the size of the hole on the body, its just big enough for the shaft to fit through. Now if the pot and knob were one peice, how does it go through that hole? It cant be one peice, the pot is inserted through the hole from the inside and the knob is pressed on from the top. Two seperate pieces. I have had some that were so tight, that like others have experienced, the knob broke while trying to pry it off.
  10. Yeah thats how I do it, I just wanted to show him that there is a tool for knobs without screws.
  11. Personally I come to a guitar building site for guitar building not to debate. They have debate forums for that kind of stuff.
  12. I tried to be sarcastic and explain before but since you still seem to think its one peice, how the hell did it fit thru that little hole. Now you cant answer that so here is the tool to get the knob off. http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Knobs/Special_...lectronics.html
  13. You have a Woodcraft in Sacramento, they carry Trans Tint.
  14. In order for that to be true then the tree would have to grow around the shaft between the pot and knob before they could build the guitar So if there is not a screw then you just need to pry the knob off.
  15. I have the 10" Craftsman that doesnt use standard blades but I found these, are they any good?
  16. I ordered a Mahogany strip friday, gotta get what I can before these good deals are all gone.
  17. Yeah my wife is going to love that, she asked when I was going to stop buying guitars and I said never. Now I started building.
  18. Same here Wes, but now I am running out of wall space in my studio.
  19. Jackson didnt make it so why put their name on it? Be proud and put your own name on it.
  20. The thing I have learned about guitar building is patience, wait till you can get what you need to do it right. I have made a few mistakes with my first build because I get excited about it and rush through things.
