Long time lurker here. Some great info and ideas from this forum
I am attempting to route a cavity on the side of an acoustic guitar. The cavity is for the Fishman Prefix preamp. I have a Dremel, the Stew Mac router base/holder for the dremel and various bits. The plexiglass template I am using is about 1/2 inch thick and is very stable/strong.
My question is:
What kind of bit should I use to route the cavity?
I tried to use a cutter bit that came w/ the Dremel, but when I tried a pass, the bit cut into the template. I have seen router bits that have a bearing that rubs against the template. But all the ones I found were to big to fit into my Dremel. Is there an attachement that you can add to an existing Dremel router bit that would act like the bearing you find on a real router bit?
How would you guys attempt this type of route with a Dremel?
