  1. hi does anyone know how to print a WHITE waterslide decal. ive been told that the only printer which can print white is an alps printer. ive also tried to locate a store on the net which might print the decal for me.. but the only place i found which can do it wants sheets of 100 which is alot. -dom

  4. hi does anyone know of a good but not ridicolous expensive artist who could do a design on my guitar? start to finish?
  5. i used some cotton swab to try and touch up a small area of paint which went under the masking tape and when i tried to touch it up, the paint went right to the wood! which didnt make much sense, but i tried to correct it but it turned into a mess! then i tried to sand the body down but the paint is clearly not cured. dry but not cured and making it really difficult to sand down! i need to get a new body now! anyone know where i can get a new jackson js1 body!!! or does anyone know someone who might be able to sand this body down for me for a price? im was using 180 grit sand paper and i kept ripping the sheets with the electric sander. -dom
  6. my first painting job didnt go well, so ive decided to start over. do i have to sand the whole body down again if i plan to use the same type of paints? can i just sand down a bit and re prime it and start over? -dom
  7. hi guys, its come to my attention, should i be filling the grain of the wood with a sanding sealer on the neck before i apply the tru oil or do i just go with the tru oil right on the wood? -dom
  8. material does not resonate at all i dont believe! how could i compensate to still get a nice bright biting sound in the guitar again?

  12. hi, ive started my first build ever. i picked up an jackson js1 on craigs list for 50 bucks it actually didnt soound that bad when i checked it out!! but i took it apart and started sanding it down. i happen to be sanding up on a porch and dropped the neck two stories and cracked the headstock!! now i need a new neck for this thing! can anyone guide me as to where to get a replacement neck for my guitar. or what am i supposed to be looking for.. i was checking out warmoth but they seem quite expensive for a neck and considering this is my first build i dont want to spend 200 - 250 on a killer neck and then ruin it. i just need something that is a good quality one. to be exact the model i picked up was the JS1 and the specs i could find are.. 13. hi ive looked in like 6 different hardware stores around me and no one has deft. what might be the second best alternative for sanding sealer and clear coat? -dom
  14. hi all, ive recently been rethinking my idea of putting a poster on a guitar. what if i were to take a t shirt and make a material finish out of this? do you think this would work? is the thickness of a t shirt fabric an issue? -dom
  15. i did but im still confused as to exactly what to do! what kind of clear coat do I use that dries in a few days ready for wetsanding? -dom
  16. Im going to use Poplar wood. Ive also been recently told that putting the clear coat right over the paper will cause it to buckle. although i am not even sure exacty what that means! but.. i ordered the poster today and I am going to test it. i do have aa few more questions.. Which clear coat do I get? and once i apply the clear coat, do i still need to let it sit for 2 months before I wet sand and smooth it out? or do i just need to wait a few days? is there a clear coat that I can get which dries completely in 2 days? also another thing.. i was reading up more on decoupage and basically you are sealing the paper with a combi of elmers glue and water, but how do you sand elmers glue so that its a really smooth finish? id imagine if you have streaks in that from brushing it on it will show right through the clear coat -dom
  17. is there any prep work that needs to be done? essentially do i still need to use a grain sealer on the unfinished guitar and then apply the graphic or can i just apply the graphic right over the body of the guitar? also do i just spray the clear coat directly on the graphic? is there anything that needs to go on before that? also how long do i wait before i start the wetsanding process of smoothing it out?
  18. hi all, im wondering if its possible to take a poster cut it out exactly to the shape of the guitar, glue it down and then put the clear coat and finish over it to make it look like someone painted on the guitar. there was a tutorial in which someone put down a material finish from cotton and it looked really good, do u think it would work just as well with a poster -dom
  19. Hi there, the site u referred us to alda is that like a contact paper that you could simply put down on the guitar and then clear coat right over that? also what if i were to take a paper painitng and cut that exactly to it to replicate something like this with a different painting http://www.rockandrollweekend.com/LunaDeFuego.htm
  20. which seymour duncans should i get? I want to get a nice hot sound out of the pickups so i can get that nice saturated distortion lead that eddie gets w/o having to custom make pickups like he did. there has to be a good alternative to getting something close. -dom
