  1. fugly? well maybe so... but it's the customers nickle...
  2. a lot of people seem to have the misconception that a fanned fret guitar is more difficult to play... just the opposite is true, it's a much more natural feel and most everyone i've handed one to has been surprised at the lack of need to "adjust" to it
  3. the body of this one is african mahogany
  4. the nut is 2.25 wide and the bridges are abm guitar size singles
  5. 2 bartolini jazz pickups under the 5 guitar strings and a split-up p-bass set under the 3 bass strings
  6. here's one for a charlie hunter fan that i just finished http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/catfoosh/P1010014.jpg
  7. another one of my fanned fret creations http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/catfoosh/ff1.jpg comments welcom
  8. the new bocsh colt laminate trimmer is the ticket, small enough for detail work but has plenty of power much better than a dremel
  9. Funny you say that, I once strung up my MIM strat B-B and loved the sound. How do the pole piece positions work out? Do the strings sit exactly between the N-S poles (in which case you'd need a slightly more narrow string spacing)? Or did you have them custom-spaced? the string spacing was a deciding factor in slanting the pickups... the customer wanted to keep the neck fairly narrow the pickups are dimarzios... nothing special
  10. the birdges come from allparts... very spendy unless you buy them in large quanity i'm gearing up to machine some of my own design this spring
  11. well if your offering, i'll keep that in mind. I'm very interested in a different approach to guitars... granted i probably shouldn't get too over my head seeing as how i'm only on my first build as of now. How much experience do you think someone should have before trying to build a guitar with a fanned fretboard? by the way, nice guitar. slotting the fb and laying out the bridge aer the only tricky parts... other than that it's just like any other build
