  1. its supposed to be sugar maple, and its flatsawn. is that a problem? unluckily i have no idea about grain run or moisture content but i'm told that the planks are years old. and they sure look straight. So, would it be a total waste of time and wood, or could a guitar built this way be playable?
  2. Hei, its my first post here, so hello to everybody i intend to glue together (face to face that is ) four maple planks, all 1 cm thick, and saw my guitar body and neck out from these. My question - is it a good or a bad idea, both soundwise and neck stability wise? Any hints warmly welcome. (why i wanna do it like this - i happen to have the planks lying around in my shed)
