Hi all, I'm considering painting over some inlays (just plastic ones - no fancy materials ) and I was wondering which paint would take best to it and, importantly, be most resistant to rubbing straight back off! Thanks

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking it didn't need anything (in the sense that rosewood doesn't normally), but I've heard of other people using dyes on fingerboards and having some rub off onto fingers etc while playing - or did they just use too much dye? If I can go ahead without having to finish / seal the board afterwards then all the better

Hi all, I'm currently thinking of ebonizing a rosewood fretboard using a leather dye (here's the link - essentially the same as they sell on StewMac). That part is all well and good; but how to finish it? Can anyone recommend a good matte waterbased lacquer that I can use? And recomend a good technique to apply it? (bear in mind I'm in the UK so I'd need something either based here or would ship ) Thanks all!

Thanks for the info. It would be for a 22 fret body so that would be fine but I'll probably look into a few more avenues

Hi all, I was just wondering how easy (and whether it's possible) to fit a warmoth neck to an Ibanez AANJ body? Obviously it would be an un-predrilled neck so the screw holes could be done to fit the body, but how much other work is involved? Would I need to sand down around where it joins to the heel to get a good curve or is it so far out it's not worth the effort? How would the standard neck width / depth compare to an AANJ pocket? This probably isn't something I'd be doing for a while if I did, but it's always good to get as much info as possible early on Thanks in advance!
