  1. oh ok, so then the switch isn't connected to anything but the red white, and ground. thanks a lot you really helped out! i think i should be good now
  2. crap i must've looked at that guitarelectronics.com page 10 times and i didnt see what i was looking for! it must be the "Humbuckers(2)/Outer Single Coils" that is what i need. Or is that to split them and then run those outer 2 coils together? i'm still pretty lost on this one. for exaple, this http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wirin...tic=2h_2v_1t_3w is basically how i want it to be, except with both humbuckers also connected to one mini toggle that would split them both. but i don't know where to connect that in and i'm about to put in the 2 humbuckers. that seymour duncan diagram you suggested helps with the master tone, which is completely obvious. haha i'm an idiot
  3. Hi everyone, I've been looking to rewire my sg. Now it has a single coil in the neck with a volume control, and a humbucker in the bridge with a volume control, tone control, and seperate switch for coil splitting. Basically i just took out the neck's tone pot when i swapped out the pickups originally and used that spot for the humbucker's coil split switch. Kinda half-assed, but now i'm looking for a little more function with the same controls. So now i'm looking for a schematic that'll give me a seperate volume pot for each pickup, with a master tone and a master coil split switch. It's just the coil split switch that's the problem. Is it possible for both pickups to be split by the same switch? Thanks, any help would be great! I'm basically at a standstill now
  4. thanks, you definantly helped! i'm planning my guitar to be mostly a solidbody with just some chambers. i'm thinking about several smaller chambers, with maybe a small x-hole for some of them. and that bc rich is just an overall cool guitar!
  5. i'm making an electric guitar with a mahogany body with a maple top. i'm going to chamber it, and i'm wondering if f-holes will be a good idea. if anyone can tell me how f-holes affect the sound, i'd appreciate it! i'm also thinking about alternate shapes for f-holes. like x-holes or something else. haha i just think it'd work better with the style and attitude of the guitar i'm making. but that'll be just for looks, if it would affect the sound negatively, i won't try. if anyone has experience or suggestions, i'd love to hear them! thanks a lot!
  6. thanks a lot! i just didnt want to work on it and have it end up sounding dissapointing.
  7. hi, i'm making a new guitar from scratch. Its my third attempt so i generally know what i'm doing. I have 2 inch thick mahagony for the body, and also a quilted maple top. and i made a maple set neck for it. the shape i'm using is kinda a twisted firebird style. it'll be a 2 piece body too. so i know with all that wood, and the set neck, and the big body, its gonna have loads of sustain and sound really dark ! but i really want a punchy, punky sound. so now i'm looking for some hardware and pickups that'll make it sound brighter. i want a non-trem bridge. i've been looking at floating archtop bridges and tailpieces too. and with the pickups either single coil (p-90) or humbuckers are fine, with a medium or high output. i just dont want to end up with it sounding muddy! and i'm also thinking about maybe hollowing out some sections of the mahogony. if anyone knows what a difference that will make let me know please! i like the way gretsch hollowbody guitars sound distorted, i want that kind of punky sound. oh, and i havent installed a nut yet, so if there's any suggestions on that! if anyone has any info on anything here please let me know! thanks a lot!
