  1. I am currently working on a bass with a bartolini stingray replacement pickup and a pre-wired preamp. Its the Bartolini 2.3/AP. It has a bass, treble, and push/pull(active/passive) volume. I have it wired up just as the diagram says and connected to a 9 volt battery. The sound and tone is great when I pull the volume knob out for passive mode, but when I push it in for active mode i get no sound at all. I have tried every different combination of wiring on the output jack but still have nothing. I don't need to hook up a second 9 volt do I? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. i really like that idea. It seems like it would be a safer bet than saw dust too cause it should blend in better.
  3. I have a maple neck with a black walnut stripe in it that i am about ready to put finish on. I don't want a spray on thick glossy finish like you normaly see but a finish like you see on higher end models. Should I use some kind of oil or stain to rub on the neck? Something that will penetrate good and protect the wood from the oils of the skin.
  4. so i just have to squirt some wood glue in there and sand away while the dust falls in and i'm good to go?
  5. I see on most factory made guitars the fret ends on the fretboard are filled in the same color as the fretboard. Is this just saw dust from the fretboard that is glued in there? I'm getting ready to put in my frets and was just curious what it was in there.
