  1. hai there, thanks ansil for the input. do you mean i have to add another volume pot for the earphone? as if the chu moy amp? i'd appreciate any help on this.
  2. hai, i think this perfboard diagram of ruby amplifier is well know to a lot of you guys here. but i just need to know how or where in the drawing that i could add earphone as a feature, you know, just for a quiet time practising. this is the schematic, if anyone interested. P/s: does anyone knows the website that shows how to make an effect unit using perfboard? it's yellowish in color, i just can't remember what or where i've seen it before. i save it once before my pc decided that it's time to breakdown on me, sigh...
  3. yeah, it's a copy of floral JEM, a chinese made copy. though i wouldn't say that chinese made copies of famous guitars are not good, this one just isn't right, the horns, the monkey grip and especially the knobs position, i zoom up the picture, you could actually see that it is the knobs are off from the edge of the pickguard. sigh... i'll build one if i dared enough... one of these days, just one of these days...
  4. I found this while surfing the pages of ebay uk and I thought, I just gad to ask you guys, what's your opinion on it? *hint* the volume and tone controls Just a side note story, it's been quite sometime for me to find one of these (Floral JEM), I don't know why I like it, maybe just to be different. But the price, unfortunately for me, is quite steep for me. Maybe one of these days...
  5. Very nice work considering that you use hand tools rather power tools... Very inspiring... I just can't wait to see it being finished. Btw, what sort of finish do you had in mind? or is it too early in its stages?
  6. If i'm not mistaken, that's how Myka and Perry did their fingerboards, fretted first, then attache it with the rest of the neck.
  7. It's maple alright... fretboard AND neck...
  8. Hai, I'm sorry for any inconvinience, but can anyone help me for a question or two regarding the little gem practice amp from runoffgroove.com. I did email the author but since i haven't got any reply and i need to build the amp to practice in my spare time, I just have to ask you guys for some answers. first question, from the picture, where i should do the wiring for the speaker? second question, if i want to add the on/off switch for the amp (the picture is from diyguitarist.com), where should i wired the switch? I'm sorry for any trouble caused (if there's any) and I appreciated for those who can help me. Thanks again in advance.
  9. Maybe we should use bigger fonts for the SEARCH function to be noticed there. just my 2 cent opinion.
  10. Why do you want to learn using an oscilloscope here? Curious.
  11. add one person here to use chisel in shaping the neck, ME!
  12. hai to all agai, sorry for the late reply. got a lot of assignment to be submitted this week and i've been struggling to cope up with my studies and my guitar building process. anyway, i've checked the pickups that i had, like what lovekraft had suggested, and i found out that: the single coil - 6.4k DC the humbucker - 7.85k DC i'm not quite familiar with this process, so any help is appreciated. just another thought, i've decided that since i'm not using the tone control a lot, or even rarely use them, i'm leaving it out from my guitar. so, it will have a 5 way switch and a volume. is this good or bad? do i need to have some capacitors on the volume pot? lovekraft - i bought the pre-wired pickguard from a music store near where i'm studying. the owner of the music store is also the owner of the jamming studio where me and my band practice every 2 weeks. it's quite a deal actually. anyway, thanks for any help!
  13. The pickups are from a pre-wired pickguard set that I bought at a special deal. It was S-S-H originally but since I want to have a S-H configuration, I'll need to rewire them again. So, help from anyone? The 1st picture is the way I liked it to be wired and the next pic is how the wires on my pickups look like. I'm just not sure which wires goes to where as in the 1st pic, the humbucker seems to have 3 wires only. Help is very much appreciated here. Thanks for reading.
  14. Hi guys, as I'm nearing completion of my guitar, a few coats of lacquer (orange with black burst) and clear, I realized that I need help on wiring my guitar. The first picture is how I want my guitar being wired. The second is a diagram of the actual colour of the pickup which made me a bit perplexed. Thanks for any help.
