  1. hi, i've re-made my guitar wiring and as i have it all open i think about trying out some mods, and the one that caught my eye was the Series/single/parallel switching on this site(http://www.guitarnuts.com/wiring/sw3.php). the problem is that im not understanding the designations(a+/a-/b+/b-), this is suppose to be the wires coming from the humbucker but my pickup only has 3 wires, one white one red and other black! help needed
  2. Hi, im trying to paint my guitar to black, and heres what i've tryed out: i've sanded it well 'till the wood, i used a white color as a base, and then black. until this part, the results are ok. the problems begins after . i read in the forum that i should sand after every painting to take out the imperfections, and i tryed it, but what it does is worse! it ruins the paint... i know that im doing something wrong, hope you guys tell me what the 2nd problem is after the paint dry, varnish. i dont know how i can put it in the paint, and to make it smooth. and other thing, can you tell me how to polish?? i dont understand it quite well either thx to all
  3. i have one humbucker in the bridge, and then 2 single coils.
  4. Hello, im thinking about improving my guitar, and its to ask your opinion about what pickups should i buy. i will use the guitar mainly for hard-rock/metal stuff, so what pickups are good to this styles. this is a cheap guitar, so i wont spend too much money on the pickups... so good and cheap thx
  5. Well, if it's rosewood or ebony, you don't really need anything. These types of wood don't require any kind of finish. If you're in a really dry area, you might need to oil it once every few years, but even then. It's a matter of choice --some people insist on cleaning their fretboards once a year, others (like me) just live with the gunk --finger grease is an excellent conditioner hmm ok, so i just manage to put my guitar worse thx for helping
  6. yep, i sanded the fretboard(didnt know the name) and guess i shouldnt had done it so, whats the material that i should use to protect the fretboard? thx for responding
  7. Hello, dont know if this is the right section to talk about this, but where it goes. i have cheap guitar and im trying to improve it, so i saw at some site like a tutorial to improve the arm and i tryed to followed it. i used a water sandpaper and then i putted some varnish(hope thats the word ) and this how it looks: guitar in the beginning -> http://www.box.net/public/1xxd287p0r guitar after sanding 1 -> http://www.box.net/public/448lf7zord guitar after sanding 2 -> http://www.box.net/public/lstc9j2mbq guitar after 1 -> http://www.box.net/public/5ed4jp0lq5 guitar after 2 -> http://www.box.net/public/jio1atp6yk now my doubts, do i need to use the sandpaper everytime i use the varnish? how many times should i use the varnish? and from what time to time do i need to do this? ----- now a diferent doubts, im thinking about doing some drawings in the guitar with a spray paint, but i dont know how i should do it. should i use the sandpaper first? or can i apply right away? do i have to put some other product over the paint? sorry for the bad english eheh
