  1. I got it all finished! I am ready to go, Once I get the EMG-SA it will be PERFECT! Well to me atleast. In response, This is directly from the manufacturer website: Can I use the stock 5 way switch with my Zakk Wylde Set? No. Using a 5 way switch with two EMG active pickups results in dead spots in positions 2 and 4. This can result in damage occurring to the speaker cones, especially at high gain levels. You'll have to replace the 5 way switch with a 3 way blade switch instead, like the one shown in our diagrams. This applies only to EMG Active Pickups In a (2) pickup application.
  2. I am franticly searching for a diagram, skematic, directions or anything of assistance to get my EMG-ZW pup's installed in to my 93 Ibanez. This is the set back: The EMG set is (2) Humbuckers, and my con fig. is Hum, Sin, Hum. I have also purchased a new switch: Fender 5-way The plan is to purchase the EMG-SA in a few weeks, but in the mean time I would like to get this puppy rolling. I am fully aware of the loss of sound quality in the single pup due to installing "active" & "passive" pup's together. But heres the deal..... I dont really want to have to purchase a 3-way switch that will just be thrown away or something in a few weeks just so I can play my guitar. (by the way, a little about me: If I dont play for a couple hours at least every other day, well............ you remember the shinimg? (haha) just kidding, but it gets pretty bad. (I'm sure you can understand what i'm talking about) oh, and by the way, this makes day 3 without "play-time" So I am getting a little edgy. Second, I am also aware of the dangers of connecting the 2 hum set to a 5-way with no other pup config to it. What I would like to know is if there is anyone that can help me with a temp. fix to where I can hook up the EMG 81 &85 aswell as the OEM single coil. I have no intention of playing the Single Or even staring at it for to long in a funny glare (well... until its replaced that is) I just want to jam without fear of blowing out my amp speakers. can someone PLEASE HELP!!![/size]
