This guitar was always very quite, and I always set the volume on 10.
I bought some new strings and a new cable and lowered the action a little.
The volume has increased dramatically and it's become a high gain guitar
and I have a tremendous increase in finger noise
and a phaserish noise when picking.
I now have to set the volume at 6 or 7.
But the finger noise and high gain quality remains.
Raising the strings or lowering the pickups or going back to the old cables has no effect.
The guitar almost seems like an antenna: moving it around I pick up more or less noise.
My regular amp or a battery powered one has no effect either.
Is it just my imagination or is something not working properly?
Any ideas what's going on?
