  1. Hey guys so I decided what to take on as my first serious guitar project, and I'm going with a jazzmaster. Having said that, it doesn't seem to be entirely too difficult, a similar back contour to the Strat and the routing is pretty straightforward and simplistic thanks to the pickguard. My only question really is to do with the electronics, the 3 switches on the top I have absolutely no idea what they do to be honest, anyone able to shed light on the topic? I'm also indecisive between the vintage jazzmaster pickups or putting in P90's since I've always liked their sound and feel they'd go well in a jazzmaster for a unique sound. -Ian
  2. Hi guys, I'm working on my first guitar and I have my design pretty set, what I'm confused about is I've read all over every article I can about how to build a custom body, but nowhere does it say where to rout the holes for the pickups or electronics on the back, nor how deep they should be. Also does it matter how far back the bridge is placed? Thanks guys.
