  1. well they finally responded to me.... they do ship here for cheap. the thing is that i also wanted to buy a Gibson Truss Rod cover, but they told me they wont ship it to canada since Gibson dont allow them anymore outside of USA. thanks for the help all. ill order stuff from them soon, they have the lowest prices ive seen so far on most guitar parts.

  3. thanks, anyway the logo looks better when you can read it
  4. ok thanks, but with that kind of humbucker : there arent pole screws inside.... right? ok read carefully as i explain it to you: i have a emg-hz that is a neck humbucker.... that means the hotter coil is on the outside (neck side) and logo is closer to the bridge. ok? if i transfer that SAME humbucker to the bridge without doing a 180, that means the logo is still closer to bridge and screws (if there are any) are closer to the neck.... so do i need to turned it 180 to get a more Hot gain sound cause for now it sounds boomy? thanks
  5. www.fqms.com/ has anyone ever ordered from them FROM CANADA? i searched the forums and it looks kinda underground to me.. their prices are cheap, what about the shipping? 3x3 grover vintage keystone chrome tuners are listed at 32$. all the other shops sells them at 50$ and up!!!..... thanks
  6. same here, i have a neck EMG-HZ on the bridge position, so im not sure if i just turned it 180 it will make a difference since i dont see any poles pieces...... where are they, near the EMG signature logo or the other side no logo? i need more gain tho since its a neck one. should i put it poles facing bridge or poles facing neck? thanks for the help.
  7. DONE! havent skipped one step! thank you so much, i knew a lil about soldering, but this pickup was just so greasy and even sanded it couldnt stick... the eraser to clean the surface and the alcool to sterelize it, was an incredible tip. thanks again! now the guitar squeals like a baby and it has no feedback or hum! how great is that? keep rockin mates
  8. hmm i have a 25watt iron but ive been using it few times and it is very hot, oh well :S my humbucker has no screws, looks like a seymour but with the flat poles only.... (they are stock pups) so if theres another way, id be glad to know it. if i only put crazy glue on the sides, will i get hum, feedback or anything else? thanks!
  9. thank you wickerwolf. but should i put something between the pickup and cover, i think the pickup was waxed cause i can see some on it. but can i add some glue, and if so what type, cause maybe in 2-3 years ill get rid of covers, who knows??(crazy glue might not be the proper one in this case) thanks!
  10. ok so i have two open humbuckers and im trying to ground the 2 chrome covers on it. but the joint wont stay on, just turn it down and it falls.... i scratched the surface before soldering it but it doesnt help much. im using Electrical rosin core solder, lead free, SRC300 i got it at home depot. i tried differents places but no results, any tips PLEASE???!!! thanks!
  11. thanks, heres the Tremclad i used: http://www.rustoleum.com/product.asp?frm_p...d=548&SBL=1 not sure if its even enamel or poly, it just says finish. i think i will let it as it is. and no the tuners arent even sinking in the coat cause i only painted the top and sides, so only the bushings are touching the coat and i havent pushed them hard at all. but id like to know if i should keep storing the headstock near the electric heater or not. will it help or will the cold canadian nights help it better? all in all, cold or hot to cure faster? thanks for help each and everyone of you.
  12. thanks to everyone! i really like the way it looks now, so i think ill forget about another coat. i use an electric heater, its at low level but its just to keep the air warmer, is it ok? whats the best Temperature to cure it faster? 25 degree Celcius? heres the headstock, not polished yet, you can see some air dust on it but this is only external dust since the coat isnt sticky at all the story is that i had some dings i wanted to take off so i ended up putting some sharpie marker to hide them, then i started hiding more and more...... to that point where the headstock was compeletly ruined and ugly. so i decided to try some stuff i learned here. well, tell me what you guys think, its my first real refinishing. oh and if you know it, dont forget to tell me best Temperature and Time to let it cure before stringing it up. 2 days? thanks!
  13. ok so here's the deal: (excuse my english) I KNOW there are tutorials, ive read em all... but none of em can tell me what i should choose cause i have to take a decision... and id like to know what you guys think would be closer to a profesionnal finish. ive put some clear coat spray on my SG copy guitar headstock (the only part im refinishing btw) and now its almost dry and i ALMOST got rid of all the little bubbles and dust on it by applying 3 coats. Should i wait till the coat is COMPLETLY hard and "wet sand" it OR should i just add another final coat without sanding? i have #600 paper grit, is it ok to wet sand with it? but i can buy some more tomorrow.. im using Tremclad Protection top coat/ clear, Gloss. and its supposed to do some good job, but anyways im the problem, not the spray :S heres the imaging process: you can see there's this "orange peel" feel on it so if i use 600 wet paper, how do i have to use it, can i just wrap a pen and rub, or is there a better method like a block? thanks in advance for the advices. God bless! rene
