  1. For my next build I want to stain my guitar a dark brown color so my inlay pops out. The trouble is that I can't find any good stain samples on mahogany online. Does anyone have any pictures of a dark stain they did on mahogany? What products did you use?
  2. Hi there, I'm completely new to guitar building and have an unfinished custom thinline Tele design body I need to treat and finish. The body is swamp ash and I really want to make good use of the grain patterns and give it a charcoal stain look. I'm aiming for something like the attached photo, if possible. I am shooting for the brightest transparent white i can achieve via a wipe-on stain. I purchased Minwax water-based white tint base from Home Depot and wiped a few coats... It's nice - kind of a slightly-brighter Mary Kay finish. I really wanted a brighter, transparent Arctic White finish though. I did a few tests on scrap and got really nice r
