  1. Hello guys, let me know what you think. Wenge neck was by Soulmate Guitars with an Ebony fingerboard from guitarinlay.com. Pickup is a Painkiller Bareknuckle. Maple burl/flame top on a Mahogany body. Simple tape line paint for a "binding" As you can see the burl is sort of "wavy," is there something that would have flattened this out more looking back now?
  2. Put your guitar body on something like a record turntable, turn it up to high speed, and drop some stain on, sort of like that kids art toy.
  3. Here it is, the workmanship might be a little rough, i used a hand jigsaw to cut the perimeter, the only tool I used that plugs in is a dremel tool. I am kind of going for an old, obscure prototype look. I bought this body blank prerouted from Warmoth.com anyways, here's the work in progress: I had a lot of fun making it, from the time I first got the idea, it took me about two years to take action. Now I have it painted and the pickguard cut, I'm using gold alumitone pickups with a floyd rose. sadly I can't afford the floyd rose or the neck, so this project is on hold right now.
  4. I forgot to state that it is a bolt-on neck. I like the idea of finishing the pocket to get a tighter fit. Thanks for your help
  5. I was just wondering if you should polyurethane (or whatever) the area of the guitar body that attaches to the neck, or leave it as bare wood? I'm sorry if this is somewhere in the forums, I did a search and couldn't find it. Thanks in advance!
