ibreakemineedtobuildem
Has anyone tryed those piloted router bits? They don't have a ball bearing. So I was wondering how they don't scuff up your sides while the bit is turning. My first binding,so i don't know if I should buy one of those or just go with the ball bearing bit. Thanks
mdw3332
A friend had that and the Dremel attachment one. I have used the Dremel one and it was OK. Last week, I got the regular router bit with the 7 bearings. It is expensive ($70) but I just did a purpleheart Strat and it worked perfectly. I'm glad I sent the money. Morben Guitars
I've used those bits before - they work surprisingly well! I expected some scuff marks on the body since it lacks a bearing..but that wasn't the case. It's a good inexpensive way to route the binding ledge.
