  1. learn guitar in a day, 3 chord songbook.
  2. Don't snap the top off of one of the tuning pegs, and then use two pens to turn the remaining bit to tune it 5 minutes before a gig.
  3. The chat rooms is a great idea, and is cool, but we definately need times for everyone to go on together!
  4. I've got a couple of bands on the island. I just finished the music courses at the college last year. I haven't seen your band around, but mind you there are about ten million bands on the island! Where do you play most?
  5. The band was the new Jimi Hendrix Experience with Mitch Mitchell on drums and Billy Cox on bass. I know I guy whos in the music industry who lives near me, who has some original unpublishd photos of Hendrix backstage at the I-o-W festival. Could be some of the last taken of him. The festival was less than a mile away from me now, theres also a published photo of him standing on a field next to where my dad now lives.
  6. No. Alot of people say it is and are wrong. He died somthing like 16 days after, he did a few more gigs, but he was really going down hill. (Thats what the Isle Of Wight does to you,)
  7. If you read any stuff about Roger Mayer, it tells you of how Hendrix would get him to make subtle changes to pedals for different sounds, consiquently there were loads of them all slightly different. The pedals weren't made to his spec but were altered to his taste, thats definate, and is talked about in most good Hendrix biographies. Check this schematic out: http://www.montagar.com/~patj/jhfface.gif The whole sites very interesting for stomp box schematic fans: http://www.diystompboxes.com/pedals/schematics.html If for some reason the links dont open, add them to your 'favorites' and open them from there.
  8. There were pop festivals here in the 70's, Miles Davis,The Who and Bob Dylan played and Jimi Hendrix headlined in 1970. Theyve just started doing it again once a year three years ago. Robert Plant, Ash, Hundred Reasons and Starsailor were the main acts the first year and Iggy Pop, Brian Adams and Counting Crows the second year. David Bowie and Bob Dylan are supposed to be playing this year, and there's been talk of the remaining members of the Who playing! I hope thats true.
  9. Don't know, theres a golf course just up the road from me and one down the road at Farringford house, in Freshwater Bay.
  10. don't think I've ever been actually, don't know if it's still there. What is halarious is if you ever see an Isle Of Wight booklet, theres always loads of really good things advertised in it like rare tiger parks, theme parks, wildlife centers, strip clubs and things like that, you get here and theres only a model village and a giant falling over a cliff.
  11. You have seriously missed out my friend. There's a torture chamber and everything!
  12. Just thought of another amazing attraction of the Island, the Wax works! now thats almost better than Blackgang, almost but not quite.
  13. Apprently the Isle of Wight isn't part of Britain anymore because it was sold to Russia in the 60's as a nuclear waste dump!
  14. Im crap with names but if he went to the same school, even if he was a year above Im sure i'd know him.
  15. Very true. It'll probably go to America and be either in some rich persons attick or in some glass cabinet in a Chicgo Rock Cafe or somthin, I bet it never gets used again. Hendrix would have had it to his specs, and with his brilliant ear for tone its probably is one excellent pedal.
  16. As far as schools go I went to West Wight Middle and Carisbrooke High and im 20 case your brothers went to them as well.
  17. don't laugh.. it's Pook. My dad had the butchers in Freshwater and my mum has an art and craft/framing, printing buisness.
  18. Weezerboy, did you go to school on the island?
  19. The Isle Of Wight has just become a 'hot topic'!!!

  21. I used to live right next door to Calbourne Mill in one of those little round cottages on the side of the road, the one with the well.
