  1. Kimbara 12 String Acoustic

I'll get straight to the bad points....at some point the neck had been re-glued at the body, although as you can see it's not pretty it's certainly solid and hasn't caused me any problems at all over the 18 months I've owned the guitar. The body has also had a bash on the side, causing cracks in the finish and binding, I've taken close up's so you can see both area's of damage. The machine heads are pretty rubbish to be honest, one inparticular has a cracked button and the bush is missing, it will need a re-string.

So there you go...it's had a hard life :D but it's honestly not a bad sounding guitar at all. It'll be on ebay next week so get in quick :D

    £25 + £12 p+p (DHL 2/3 day service) Payment by Paypal

  2. I've just got a new band together and at this moment in time it's just not practical to transport this thing around to rehearsals every week :D I'm looking for £400ono (this retailed at £999 + about £250 for the midi controller (included) when new) I'd be happy to do a part exchange for another amp, so let me know what you've got B) I might even be tempted to p/x for a guitar. It would need collecting from Burntwood in Staffordshire (could possibly deliver for a p/x) I don't want to post it as it weighs an absolute ton :D

    Spec:

    180w stereo (2 x 90 w) @ 8 ohms

    260w stereo (2 x 130w) @ 4 ohms

    Two 12" Sheffield speakers

Transtube Midi Pre-amp, stereo power amp

128 user / 128 preset effects + a RAM card slot for removable storage

4 Transtube modes... clean, crunch, Lead, Ultra.

    Passive and active EQ's

37 effect types, speaker simulator etc

Transtube and Digital preamps can be combined

Midi Foot controller and original manual included.

  3. I'd forgotten about this thread, I didn't end up buying it...by the time I went back to the shop they had realised it had been labelled with the wrong price, it should of been £750 :D:D I tried it out anyway and it was a damn nice guitar, but I don't think the bank manager would of been too happy B)

  4. Alex you are the man :D

I better go and try this out soon before someone beats me to it......it's up for £150! I know the guys who own the shop very well (infact I used to work there many years ago when I was in school) so I'll get discount off that price too, plus one of them wants me to do some routing work on his Tele so I think it could end up very cheap indeed :D

  5. I've found a little bit more about them from www.simonlees.co.uk (guitarist from Budgie) This is what he has to say...

''This is one hell of a guitar. Gotoh Floyd Rose, ebony fingerboard with real mother of pearl inlays, coil taps AND parallel switching on each pickup. The pickups sound reminiscent of the DiMarzios on my old Parker Fly - The Tone Zone and the Air Norton. The only bugbear is the neck which is prone to shift slightly in extreme conditions. Quality control was a problem for Palm Bay hence they are no longer made. Thanks to Mick at One Way Music it's still the easiest guitar I've ever played!''

  6. I was in my local guitar shop today where I spotted a nice looking Palm Bay guitar hanging up. Sadly the shop was full of parents buying plywood Strat copies for Christmas :DB) so I didn't have chance to plug it in, but I'll be back in there next week to give it a test drive.

It's 2nd hand but appears to be in mint condition and the price seems reasonable. Just wondered if anyone has played/owned a Palm Bay? by looking on there website I've identified it as a Cyclone P7. But that's about all I've found on the net, so any opinions or history would be much appreciated :D:D

  7. Can't find any Zebrano tops for over here in England (craft supplies is out of stock, and doesnt seem to be getting any in for a while). Because of this, I'm gonna opt for a AAA Walnut top instead, which I suppose will match the rest of the body better. I'll ring up Craft Supplies tomorrow and order it (if they have it in stock that is) along with some other stuff, and it should come on monday or tuesday or something.

If you're after some really nice Walnut I can put you in touch with someone, shoot me a pm if you want his e-mail :D This is the last piece of Walnut I brought from him....

  8. Dave sent me some pictures of the finished guitar today.

To quote Dave....''Such a nice guitar, it feels nice too, its not like a normal strat with the extra weight, which makes it a lot better, and the sound it gives through the boogie, is just immense!''...a happy customer I think :D
