well, I doubt this trem will work....
-
go for a hardtail bridge.. really... save the trem for a new project
-
that's alot...... probably too much
Did you route the trem cavity already?
-
hmmm... that's too thin for a standard vintage trem.
If you use the ring, your saddles will be raised too..... If they're too high you won't be able to achieve a low action without angling the neck
-
how thick is your body????
-
oh.. that sucks... next time make sure you put some masking tape on the drill bit as a depth stop.
The only thing I can think of right now is to put some veneer on the damaged headstock.
-
it's not so hard to make a template yourself. Derek made an excellent tutorial on that
You could also draw the route on the body, then use a piece of mdf or straight edged hardwood to guide the the router in a straight line.
Practise on scrap wood first

Coen has seen the light!!! Haleluja!!
build one, not play one..
-
I never liked LP's, but this one makes me wanna build one.
Very very nice....
-
I mean, the work and wood is awesome.. I hate the body shape....but then again, I'm a conservative b'stard
-
awesome, Drak... what kinda wood is it?
-
Yeah, mine won't take a year either...
I really need to build me a thickness sander. There's no way in hell I'm gonna buy that pre fab. ****
Look at the price of the top at Stew Mac... $125...
Here's two nice links:

Jehle,
What about Ebay.. I see alot of templates being offered lately.
-
Mine is going to be quite special. Do your own thing.
Are you gonna add your trademark horns to your V?
-
I bought a hand plane a while ago and I still have a hard time to get 100% flat surfaces.
Still looking for a tutorial on the web...
-
awesome if you dig low down Blues rock.
I prefer the blackface bassmans, but some silverface amps can easily converted to old specs....
I'm still looking for a blonde....
-
k, but how would i get it the correct size, or is it acctully the correct size but just made so it fits on a screen and enlarges when printed
probably... just take the original file to kinko's......
-
I'm the fish slapper around here...
Take it to kinko..... they know how to handle it. Just put it on a CDRW
-
I agree with Drak... I have nothing but good experiences with wood sellers on Ebay.
-
I like the benedetto way to arch the top. I'm planning to try both methods (router and drilling holes). first on a piece of scrap wood.. and see what I like best.
-
build one, you $%^$%#....
-
thanks for the response, Drak. But for now I only bought the book.....
It's definately a good reading.
If I ever start building an Archtop I will not buy my wood from Stew Mac.. man.. those blanks are soooo expensive.
I might build me a thickness sander.....
-
That's sweet, Drak.. very nice!
I try to build all my guitars exactly the way I would have a luthier custom-build them for me. Let's just say I'm a collector and a builder, so I wind up collecting my own guitars...make sense?Absolutely.. I do the same.

How can you take care of that guitar if you don't know what to do?
Unless you can tell us the problem in understandable English, I'd advise you to bring the guitar to a qualified shop.
1960 Vintage Strat Project
in In Progress and Finished Work

mullmuzzler,
There's adrawing in the advanced d/l section of a '62 strat I made in coreldraw. The only thing that was freehanded is the body contour. All the measures are from the blueprint
