You have the forum in your hands, and feel free to fxck it up. So far you have done a whiz bang job of that.
Quite a few of the "oldtimers" feel that way.....
-
I'm a Dylan fan too.
Ikke_998, Hendrix is about song writing.. so is Dylan. Check out some of his stuff. You'll love the songs, probably not the singing...
One of the best All along the watchtower versions I've ever heard is by Michael de Jong... on an acoustic.. it'll rock your nuts up your ass!

I agree with Canuck. 1/32 or 1/8 or even thicker on carved tops... it's still a veneered guitar anyway. I really don't understand your problem with veneer
-
congrats, Jeff!
-
congrats Jeff, I know how it feels... prepare for a great ride......
-
it is a tricky pic, huh. How many peices of wood do ya see?
17, but i included stuff in the background also....
guess what? Rhoads is right...... I count 11 pieces in the background
-
including the bookmatched top, yes... but I ain't sure... could be 4 too

six.....

I'm a sucker for firebirds.... This one looks very nice.
Does it feauture an angled headstock? I can't see it on the pics.
I noticed you mounted the wraparound bridge 90 degrees on the path of the strings.
How's the intonation on the guitar???
-
oh, okay. In the pic it looks like the body is covering a part of one of the pot holes...
-
Looks like you'll have a problem putting the lower pot in....
-
that means, it's do able right? as long as we're being careful on the job right?
yeah, it can be done... but buy a binding router bit from Stew Mac.... it'll save you days of work.
-
The answer is yes... but it's gonna be time consuming: you need a purfling cutter, a very sharp knive and chissels.
I tried to do that on a body and give up really soon after I received my Stew Mac binding bits.
-
no, I suck

Anyone of you used this stuff? Looks promising...

I don't get time to look at other forums (other than Wes' TSL's and Kingtoolazyto.....'s) as this is always running in the background at work and I haven't ot the net back at home.
yeah, the slambang forum....
-
yes, those necks are one piece maple necks.
Tele bodies are typically 1 3/4".. just like strats
-
I agree with Wes.
The first time I used linseed oil, I poured almost half a quarter over it
You get better results when you use it very light.
-
you could use lemon oil, or tru oil or double boiled linseed oil......
-
Yeah, "welcome" to the forum. I'm sure you'll get alot of help after reporting Rhoads.
-
I actually made a bid at Stevie's guitar...
But in the end it was waaaaaaaaaaaay too much...

His virtuosity reminds me of Monte Montgommery

Well, this is it. This is my last post around here as long as the "Mod from hell... " is trying to run this kindergarten.
I won't break any of the rules in this one. I won't call Kevan a nazi or call him the brown hole that never sees any daylight.
However, this is turning in something so pathetic that I can only express my feelings with some asci characters.
I understand single line postings are against the great new rules, so I won't break that rule.
